Common things in JoJo fics I Dislike

General Complaints: Ooc

This one for me is more about reader inserts, but it can apply to any fic in general.

It can be hard to keep every person in character in any fic, it really can, but I swear it's like some people purposely warp a character's personality just to fit their story.

There's a reader insert on this site that seems particularly guilty of this (though I will not name it to prevent discourse)

It had Dio genuinely be nice to the reader and Jonathan was rude and nasty to her. The author had swapped their characters just so Dio would seem like the reader's hero or knight in shining armor.

Honestly, it annoyed me enough that I had to completely stop reading after the 3rd chapter, and I internally cringe when I see it in my recommendations. (Doesn't help that it hits EVERY cliche a reader insert could have either...)

So please make sure you try to keep people in character and use official sources as reference. The fanon also tends to warp personalities a bit, so don't rely too heavily on that either.

Like I said earlier, it can be difficult and I think almost any fanfiction writer can struggle with this, so do your best!
