The wind whistles through the trees, allowing the leaves to dance. Clary shivers as she is wearing only a short black leather skirt and a strapless purple crop top, thinking it would be warm at the school dance. But now as she walks home she feels the cool fall air in her lungs as she breaths clouds of steam.

Her smoke in one hand phone in the other she texts the one person that after everything shes been through, and through everyone that had left her, he stays and acts as a brother that she'd always would need as she is someone he always needs.

He's drunk and broken hearted once again due to his girlfriend Emma breaking up with him once again, for she cannot chose between him and another guy. As Cole tries to say he is fine, they both know different. The streets dead, Clary stops at a bench to sit down so she can focus on trying to get Cole to at least smile once.He starts to say his is a bad person, but she knows different because of all the times he had helped her through everything, right down to her break up with his best friend, to seeing her biological mother something she didn't want to ever do again for she knew it would only be lies she woulds tell Clary if they were to talk, which sadly was the case. He was always the one that helped her through the hurt.

Clary is always trying to help Cole hold on to hope where he always said he'd given up on it, Clary would hold onto enough hope for both of them. After a few years Clary and Cole had gotten very close both struggle to trust others but after a while they've grow to trust each other. Cole would show Clary the text messages he would sent to a girl he was interested in ( before Emma) to see if it was good enough, worried they wouldn't he knew he could trust her to be honest with it. She never did have to lie though he had the soul of a poet, and a heart of fire.

Now as Clary shivers on the bench she begins to tear up. Knowing just how many times this girl had hurt Cole, putting the thought in his head the drinking will make him feel better as he is on his 9th bottle of Smirnoff, Saying he wants to be alone, Clary doesn't allow it. Being so close to him, she discovered their mind sets are freakishly alike, therefore she knew that he couldn't be alone because he may do something he very much so regrets, or may not be able to go back after he'd done it.

Quickly pushing that thought away she tells him to breath, and try not to over think as much as he usually does. She explains how he is not a bad person but he claims to be too drunk to be able to read all of it so it's simply left at "Then read it in the morning when you've sobered up" . She knows he's hurting, and that's what's hurting her not everything else going on in her mind but him hurting.

Cole begin to tell Clary he is unlovable and will forever be alone because no one has an interest in him. They've had this conversation before many times, and Clary would always tell him that it wasn't true how some people are just very secret when it comes to how they feel about people, but he'd always come back with how she could never say a single name. Little did he know all this time when they'd been getting closer she'd always thought about him in that way, but never would Clary tell him so, she always thought he may look at her as a sister or something and never wanted to ruin the trust and friendship they had, so she would never tell him one the one person she knew for a fact liked him in that way was herself.

That all was until tonight, something came over Clary her cheeks flushed deep red, and hand started to shake, she finally said that she knew for a fact that someone did but it was a promise that kept her from telling him how "that person" felt. Hoping that he wouldn't connect that to her, that was until Cole told Clary that he believes he does now know whom the girl was that Clary was talking about. She asked who does he believe it was? The response was that he will be completely honest but was unsure to say only encase he was wrong.

Clary began to think does he know it's her? Or does he think it was a good friend of Clary's, Zoe? She had no idea, that was until he told her he may have read the text wrong but he thinks it was Clary. She freezes reading the message again and again, unsure whether to lie and say it wasn't her, or finally be honest. before she could make up her mind it was as if he read her mind as he texts again saying he's thought about it too, but never told anyone and kept it secret, even to his friends them asking him what he though of Clary he lie and say no, only to kept it a secret.

Clary finally responds saying that he is right it was always her, that when she talked about knowing someone was interested about someone being interested in Cole, it was her talking about herself secretly. she hoped to death that this doesn't change was is between them, somehow scare Cole off, him now knowing how she felt.. Her stomach doing somersaults unsure what is to happen next. He wanted to hangout some and actually see if things could work out between them, as Clary agreed it was a good idea. She was worried about how Emma would respond to this, for they've dated many times, but Clary wanted to take a chance on happiness. She knew Cole would treat her like a princess and she'd never have to worry about him hurting her, she'd seen that in the texts he'd send to his girlfriend all the times.

All seemed so great Clary didn't feel as cold anymore, thinking it maybe her heart warming a little or just forgetting about the cool air, she didn't care but then reality did set in, Cole just finished telling her how drunk he was, making it seem like it was just the alcohol that was talking now, not him, she may have made him in a little better of a mood, but now she doesn't feel so well, tears going to checks now knowing he'll just text her in the morning and say it was because he was drunk, and upset.

She looks at her refection in her phone, her imperfect skin, flat chest, big legs, terrible eyebrows, brown eyes, and blonde hair. The only reason she was ever able to date guys was because of her ass. She begins to hate herself now.. It was all just in the moment. In the morning she will never hear from Cole again, and that was that. She'd be left alone with people she can't trust only to play along with with society in a way she hated because like what she was doing when she wasn't with Cole or talking to him, she'd was fake just like the rest of them, trying to finish high school, and get on with her life being bossed around and lied to and used.

As tears fall, She gets up and walks away from the bench on her way home once again. Whipping the make up off her checks, she breaths trying to calm herself. As she walks home she prepares herself for the knowledge of everything going back to the way it was before she met Cole, she'd be alone in a world of hurt and pain, without happiness near her life. Stuck in darkness, she walks home lost in thought.

The next day Clary felt as if she was being watch.. Leaving her to double cheek over her shoulders all the time, getting a bit freaked out. All at the same time she checks her phone constantly seeing if Cole texted saying he was wrong, and it wasn't the alcohol that made him say what he said. So far pure silence. Suddenly as she sits in the chair in her room starting off into spare, she heard something at her bedroom window..

There suddenly was Cole. Clary's heart skipped, her eyes weld with water knowing in her heart she will never be able to be with him.. She still walks over though pretending to be strong,  and opens the window for him, they just stare at each other for a moment, until he breaks the silence and say's he made a mistake, but he has always had a secret and hasn't told anyone. Cole looks deep into Clary's eyes, and tells her he is secretly a demon sent to steal as many souls as possible to bring back to the Queen of Edom, Lillith. Some how though, he had realized love is real, and Clary was the one that made him realize what he was doing was not for the better.

Clary sits in a patient wait, until Cole explains why he is stealing the souls, but how she is the reason he wish's not to complete his task for once he had he would then return home. Before all Cole wanted to do was to return to Edom and continue serving his Queen, but then he got to know Clary and feel for her, and now sees after explaining all that he himself loves Clary and wants nothing more than to stay on Earth with her, but the one issue is that he cannot allow himself to love, for Lillith would kill Clary, that is why he had said he didn't want anything because he didn't wish for harm to come to Clary, but if Lillith knew how Cole felt, they would never see each other again. Clary hesitates, but all makes sense now, the weird behavior, that odd feeling she couldn't understand. Clary had always knew Cole was different just hadn't realized  he was that different.. Yet after Clary had learned all this for as much as it is to take in, she sits back and realizes just how much she really felt about Cole.
