"Look over here!" My mom shouts, waving her camera in my face, "Tyler, wrap your hands around y/n's waist."
Right now I'm in my front yard taking pictures before prom. My best friend, Tyler Brown, asked me to be his date. Of course I said yes. He's my absolute most amazing person on this earth. I'm only about three inches shorter than him, so I decided not to wear heels. I didn't want to tower over him. Plus, I don't want my feet to be all blistered after hours of dancing in heels.
"Okay, I got all the pictures. Tyler, take care of my baby tonight." Mom gives both of us a hug.
"Of course Mrs. y/l/n," Tyler gets the keys to his car, "I'll have her home by one."
Tyler opens the passenger side door for me, and I thank him with a kiss on the cheek. I watch my mom snapping pictures still as he's walking around to the front of his car. As soon as he gets in, we both wave to her. Then we're off to dinner at my favorite diner, Pap's. Tyler and I have been going there since before we could walk. We had to come here before prom. Everyone else is most likely going to Frantello's, the fanciest, and most expensive, restaurant in town.
"This is so crazy," Tyler smiles as he parks the car in an empty space in front of Pap's, "I wonder if everyone's going to be drunk by the end of the night."
"Hah!" I laugh, "I'll bet you $10,"
Tyler smiles, showing those deep dimples I've always been jealous over. He gets out of the car and walks over to my side, and opens the door. I thank him with another kiss on the cheek. As we walk in, John, the chef, wolf whistles.
"You guys look stunning. Prom was one of my favorite nights," John says, as he wipes his hands on a towel, "Say, dinners on me tonight."
"No, John, that's okay." Tyler shows John his wallet.
"No, I'm serious. Now go sit down," John points to an empty table, "Want the regular?"
Tyler and I both nod. John heads to the kitchen, and we head to our regular booth. We sit down across from each other. I grab my phone, and snap a picture of Tyler. Gotta Snapchat this. Tyler's a social media influencer, so his fans follow me too. Everyone's dying to see what we look like.
"You look stunning, y/n," Tyler smiles at me, "Like, beyond gorgeous."
"Thanks Ty, you look like quite a catch yourself," I smile back.
As we're posting pictures on our social media's, our two best friends, Justin and Cheryl, come to our table. I jump up and hug Cheryl. She's in a hot pink prom dress. The same one as me, but mine is baby blue.Tyler pushes over and Justin takes a seat next to him. I scoot in and Cheryl sits next to me. John sets our plates down, along with our drinks, and takes the new guest's orders.
"Don't they look absolutely stunning?" Tyler asks Justin.
"Fuck yeah they do," Justin smirks at Cheryl, "We're lucky men, Tyler."
"Oh stop," Cheryl blushes, "y/n, don't get any ketchup on your dress."
Cheryl is like a mom to me sometimes. She's always looking out for me. I lean over the plate more, so I don't ruin my dress. John brings over more food. As we're all eating, and snapchatting, I feel so happy. This night is going to be amazing. I just know it.
Soon enough, we look at the time and decide to head out. Tyler opens the door for me and I get in. The windows rolled down, so Cheryl comes over and takes a selfie with me. Justin tells her he's about to leave without her, so she laughs and runs over to his car. Tyler gets into the car and starts it.
"Y/N, can I ask you something?" Tyler asks, while he starts to drive down the road.
"Of course," I answer.
"Um, well I'm kind of nervous about this," He scratches the back of his neck, "But, will you be my girlfriend. It's okay if you don't want to be, I-I understand."
"Tyler..." I look at him, "Of course I'll be your girlfriend. It's about time you asked!"
I'll never forget the night of my junior year prom. It was such a magical night spent with friends, and the love of my life.
