Chapter 1

Temperance's POV

"Watch it, freak!" a guys deep voice boomed. It caused me to stop looking at the floor and to look up. My eyes fell on a group of football players standing in front of me. One took a step closer to me so I was staring into his hazel eyes. He had dirty blonde hair and an eyebrow piercing. He was actually really good looking.

"I said watch it," he spoke again, but quieter. I shifted my weight on to my left foot making my hip pop out in an attitude sort of stance. I turned my face away from the huge guy and put on a bored expression.

"Last time I checked, this hallway was free for anyone to walk in," I said in a sassy voice. I looked back up at his face and watched a pissed off look creep its way on to his handsome features. He knocked the books I was holding out of my hands and on to the floor. I attempted a glare but I was no match for this guy.

"Next time, stay out of my way," he said and walked away with his teammates. No one else in the hallway had payed any attention to what just happened, but why would they? I sighed as I picked my books up off the floor and began walking again.

I ignored the usual stares and side comments as I made my way to class. I was used to all the attention by now. It still hurt, but I showed no signs of emotion.

I was the school outcast. People didn't like me because I was different. I saw things others couldn't, I understood things no one did, I believed things everyone labeled as myths and legends. It scared people that I was different, and for that I had no friends or anyone to rely on. Anyone alive that is....

A/N: Sorry this chapter was so short and terrible, I'm trying to get my thoughts together on how to write this. This is my first fanfic so I'm sorry if it's really boring. I promise it'll get better and you guys will start understanding the story in the next chapter. This is a 5sos fanfic but the main character is someone I made up. Please leave comments about anything, they help me be a better writer. Thanks for reading!
