No one can know, I slide the sleeves of my newly bought long sleeve, light pink shirt. I can't imagine how bad thing would be if people found out. I have no idea how I'm going to o this, I barely even know where these thoughts have come from, it's like I black out and when I come back, I find all of the horrible things that have already been done to my body. Down five pounds, and at least twenty fresh new cuts from the night before, and no one has noticed. As long as no one notices, I should be able to get better and figure things out. Only a little bit longer, and everything will be okay.
"Emmy, if you don't start hurrying down here, we're both going to be late!", I flinch as the shouted words make their way up the stairs, and into my room. I know it shouldn't, but yelling and shouting makes me all jumpy and nervous. I put my hair up into my typical, tight, high ponytail, and grab my bag and leave. As I make it down to the bottom stairs, I can already hear the hum of the motor going. Mom doesn't see me standing at the door and she lays on the horn. Loud noises make me jump so bad.
The bell for first period rings as I set my bag on the desk. I have this weird feeling that someone's watching me. It hotter than usual in the room, even with the windows open, letting the cool, crisp autumn air fill the room. Okay, someone's definitely looking at me, but who would be looking at me, and why?
First period dragged on, it felt like it was never going to end. I walk over to my locker, I look around and make sure can see, and I slide my sleeves up for a split. I inspect the wounds and confirm that none of them have any signs of being infected. I quickly slide down the sleeves. Within point two seconds of me putting my sleeves, Jeremy walks over with horror in his eyes. "Emmy, be honest. What are those?"
