The Strong (Zombie apocalypse love story)

Ian picked me up and set me back down on the chairs. Groaning I sat up and glared at him. "Rude" I say as I stood up and stretched.

"Hey Ian, Rachel we need a plan" Jake said walking up to us.

"Easy I'll go down into the market, find all that can last for awhile and bring it up, then we get off this roof and somewhere safer" I said.

Everyone looked at me in surprise as I walked over to the edge of the building. Giving a playful salute I jump off and grab onto the window sill.

"Rachel!" they called out as they ran to the edge.

"Will you guys stay quiet! you're just gonna attract those things" I whisper yell at them.

Ian sighs in relief when he sees me and nods, walking back to the sitting area.

Opening the window and silently slipping through, I see a few zombies in the store. I take a look at my surroundings and make mental notes. 'One two o'clock walking north of me, two around ten and eleven o'clock walking west of me. Crouching and watching where I step I creep over towards the dry food section. Silently grabbing things I've filled all our packs with food and water to last about two months if we're careful. Climbing back out the window, I notice I'm to short to reach the top of the building.

"Shit! Jake give me a hand?" I question as Jake walks over.

"Hand me the bags then I'll pull you up" he says with a smirk.

Looking at him hesitantly I look behind me. Seeing another thicker ledge I jump over to it landing softly. Looking back at Jake I see the ladder I used to climb up in the beginning.

"Well it's worth a shot" I mutter as I jump over to it. Gripping the ladder tightly, almost slipping off. Climbing up I stand on the roof with the others looking at me.

"I got food" I say with a closed eye smile.

Sorry short chapter, but I'm kinda thinking about what's gonna happen next so I'll try to update as soon as I can. So tell me what you think and if I should stop or not. Peace -Kittenz
