Chapter 1# the limit is the sky!

"Where am I?... ow my head...what the? Is that licking?" I thought to myself as I slowly opened my eyes and to my surprise a little creature was licking my face. I jerked away and aimed at it, it looked at me with curiosity and it approached me. "I guess you won't hurt me." I said softly to the creature and petted it a little. I got up and studied my surroundings then it quickly came to me that I'm not on the same planet. What happened? Where am I? I checked life support system and it's almost depleted, so I quickly rush to my ship and got some fuel to refuel my life support. "God damn it! My ship!" I yelled in anger as I looked at what's left of my ship; "it's ok it's ok I'm going to be ok right little buddy?" I said with hope looking down at the new little friend. It just clicked and hopped onto my shoulder. "Like a little monkey." I thought with a chuckle then I saw some ships flying over head, I shot a flare up to get they're attention and one landed quickly. "Oh my god are you ok!?!" Lizzie almost screamed as she rushed to me then hugging me tightly almost spooking the small creature "I thought you were dead..." she began to cry and hug me tighter so I hugged her back and rubbed her back to comfort her. I never thought I would be here, I thought I was done in the academy. "As soon as the pirates attacked us everyone was sent out..." she went on about what happened of course it was pirates what else. My expression grew more angrier and cheerful as her story went on.
A few minutes went by and my ship is operational and we took off with the small creature to the hanger. When we got back I was a nominated a hero because apparently before the pirates took me out I took out a good chunk of their ships, saving almost all of the cargo on the freighter some of my enemies on the ship were clapping and saying way to go and stuff like that after what they done to me in the academy.
I went to my room and laid on my bed thinking about my past and fiddling with my necklace thinking of what I could've done in my past for the people I love, for my friends, for my fam- that's right... I didn't have a family this is my family. I smiled and closed my eyes And pull the blanket onto me the little creature curled up next to me going to bed as well.
