It was a sunny Fall day the bees were buzzing the deer were grazing in the meadows. In Cole's house it wasn't so sunny and happy it was a rather solemn day for the Cole's. Someone passed away in their family and here's the thing it was the youngest of the Coles family. Leo Vales Coles was only five. He was killed in cold blood. Who would murder an innocent five-year-old? If you are wondering how he even got murdered. Well, I was sitting in the meadow watching my brother. I looked away for a split second that's all it took, when I looked back to where my brother was he was gone. After the initial shock. I hear a blood-curdling scream. Springing to my feet as fast as I could and ran in the direction of the scream. When I got there what I saw made me fall to the earth in horror. There lying in front of me lie my brother's mangled corpse. Missing fingers and cut out where his beautiful blue eyes. I couldn't hold in the sobs. Yet I was brought out of my grief by a stinging sensation on my right cheek. I looked up seeing my father staring down at me with hatred and in his eyes. I knew that he blames me for not being able to protect Leo he was his ray of sunshine. When my brother was born. father looked overjoyed. So you see before Leo was born I was an unplanned child. He would beat me and my mother till we were black and blue. When the family came over father wanted me and mom to act like everything was okay. I just wish when I was a little that I had said something about what he would do to us. Then Leo was born. That was when it all changed the abuse became less and less. He started to smile at me and pat me on the head, but Leo was all I and mom cared about besides each other. I was so afraid of what my father would do to me, but when I looked into my mother's eyes I saw sadness and guilt then I look into my father's eyes. It looked like he wanted to kill me. I looked into those eyes filled with malice. All of a sudden the name-calling, hits, punches, and kicks came in painful and vicious. When the realization of the situation dawned. Mother jumps in front of me, but he punched her and said
So now you want to protect this useless bitch. He turned to me with this sinister look in his eye. As I looked up at my mother saw her turn to me mouthing " I'm sorry Sweety". Right, when she turned back to him pulled out a gun. A loud gunshot rang through the forest. Mother told me to run and pack all of my things, while she covers our tracks and buries him. I grab Leo's lifeless body and ran as fast as my legs could carry me.
Hours later...
When I finally made it home grabbing the shovel and started digging to bury him. Putting a wooden cross over his grave. I then started packing our things. As I got to the front of the cabin. Mother already had the truck started and told me to get in. "We are going to go live in Florida near aunt Mera and your cousin Icuras," she said.
6 weeks later...
When the moving trucks came to our new home the movers bring everything in. I helped bring the rest of the furniture. After we were done moving things. Mom told me to go outside and relax. When I got outside I found a girl having a hard time moving a bookshelf from out of a garage. So I went to help her with moving it. After we were done moving the bookshelf I asked her what her name is she said my name is Aneesah Williams and asked what my name was. Raven, Raven Cole...
