If you feel as if you are being followed, stop reading now.
The Dark Sorcerer is out there--Seeking powers from young wizards. You might have powers; A high possibility that you are one of us.
But if you don’t feel this way, or think that wizards and sorcerers are fantasies, I envy you. Go on ahead and read.
But if you suddenly find yourself dead in the dark sorcerer’s layer, being sucked into nothing…
Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
“Roxanne!” My mother called from downstairs. “Breakfast is ready! I have bacon, cereal, tea--It’s the last day of eighth grade for you, dog-gone-it!” Mom’s voice got shaky from tears. “Make this breakfast good before I send you off to the real world next school year!”
I took one look in the mirror before I set off downstairs. My brown hair was frizzy, and my blue eyes glinted in the faint sunlight that came through the window of the small apartment.
Oh great, I thought to myself. The last day of school.
The last day of school was always out of control, no matter what school I’ve been to. And this time I was on probation. I couldn’t punch people for punching me or--
Did I just say probation? Yes, that time I had really done it. I let my ADHD take control of me, and I so called, ‘Sexually abused’ a boy by getting to close…
So yeah.
No punching, no swearing, no being curious, which was hard. Those traits made me!
“Try not to be bad today,” Mom reminded me, putting a heaping plate of pancakes and bacon on the table. I looked up at her, seeing her long blonde hair cascade over her shoulders and her warm smile shining with good attitude. She was never upset, never angered no matter what happened. It was weird on top of all the horrible things I did, plus two parents that died in a car crash. She had to live with her ungrateful dying uncle, never finishing any semesters of college.
Yet, She was still happy. A rebellious daughter, missing husband, no parents, and a crappy job of a waitress. How could she be proud?
“I don’t know,” I admitted. “Being good isn’t my thing.”
“Roxanne,” Mom said my name forcefully. “Promise me, and you’ll come home to a surprise.”
“Don’t spend your money.”
“Roxanne!”
I held my hands up in surrender.
“Okay,” I said with a mouthful of food. “But it won’t be easy.”
I came to school to a disaster. Especially gym class, where we had a ‘friendly’ game of manhunt outside in the school yard surrounded with woods.
Everybody were already in teams(Even though most of them didn’t know how to play)leaving Patricia and I out of the mix.
Patricia Knight was fully blown disabled, having no self defense what so ever. She belonged in academics instead of gym in which she got bruised so easily. Thankfully, she was someone who I could call a friend, telling each other secrets, and laughing together. No one else would dare to go near us with Patty in a wheel chair nearly half blind, and me being well, me.
