~Chapter One~

Juliet yelled out as she hit the alleyway wall. Pain shot through her back as the Demon let out a sizzling laugh. She lay limp on the floor and the demon surged toward him to finish her off. Got you now sucker. She thought as a smile threatened to play among her lips. She pushed the smirk away. As soon as the demon came in arm's length she pushed off the wall and slid through its chubby legs and seized her seraph blade. Jules sunk it deep into the skull of the demon. As it writhed in pain and it began to burn away into smoke and disappear.

She straightened her back up with a loud crunch and drew an iteraz on the inside of her forearm. Juliet scraped the stinky blue blood from her seraph blade on her leather coat so that it blazed brightly again. "I say that's a job well done. Don't you Lidy?" Juliet looked around into the empty darkness, "Lidy?" she called again. All of sudden A scream came from the distance, Julies nerve stood on end as another scream came. "Oh Shit." she said to the darkness and before she knew it she was on her toes sprinting toward the sound.

Julie raced through the alleys towards the screams. The cold, damp, stone floor echoing even at her light paces. If it werent for her marks and runes she would have fallen a million times over. Terrible thoughts crashed through Juliet's head as the sound drew nigh. She couldn't have been more stupid, running off like that, but she couldn't help it. Once the adrenalin is in her veins there's no stopping her, especially now.

A grabbing slit to her stomach made her scream. No matter how hard she fought, the demon just kept coming. If she were Jules, this never would have happened. But coming to think of it, this has happened all because of Jules. The demon lunged at her again and again. Now she was stained in scarlet blood. Lidy felt herself scream and yell for help. Hot rears ran down her cheeks. She saw a glimpse of the demons raging claw hurling towards her, I'm so sorry Jules... I'm Sorry! She cried to herself and she braced herself for the final blow.

But it never came. She opened her puffy eyes and looked. Julie was back to back with the demon. Her arms locked around its neck as it shook about. Juliet stretched her legs back behind her so they grabbed the demons bloody legs, then with all her might she pulled her legs and arms in towards her stomach, and with a sensational crack, the demon came sailing to the floor with a broken neck and two crunched legs. She stood above the demon, blade in hand, as a victorious smile spread across her face and she pleasurably drove the seraph blade in.

"Lidy?" Juliet cried and pulled out the other girl's stele and drew the iteraz on her. Her cuts quickly healed and the pain began to weaken. "Did you see that?" Julie rambled to Lidy "I just tried out my new move and it worked! I mean it actually worked!" she pulled Lidy to her feet. "Come on, let's get you home." Lidy pulled her arm across Julie's shoulders to support herself. As the girls turned a slimy figure slid towards them. As the behemoth demon emerged from the shadows the girls looked to each other then back to the demon. "Oh Shit" they said together and Jules gave Lidy a sideways glace telling her to run, but Lidy did not back down," two is better than one" she said and they drew their seraph blades, together.

Although their blade would be useless because the boneless blob of mucus and slime was able to heal itself, they knew that it they hurt badly enough for long enough it would die. They ran in opposite directions along the wall jumping on the centre of the demon. Careful not to put their legs alongside its body as a long, largemouth cover both sides of the monster with layers of razor sharp teeth. Juliet's breathing was not as steady as she hoped. She had never encountered a behemoth demon before with so few people to fight it. The only other time she had seen a behemoth, her brother and the lightwoods where there also there, in case something went wrong.
