The mini version of Yamaguchi sat boredly on the stage, watching as the ball went back... and forth... and back... and forth.. and- you get the memo, it was really boring.

The team hadn't gotten into a game yet and were just practicing their receives and serves and Yamaguchi felt antsy, like he had to do something too, but there was nothing to do on the stage, so there he sat in his child-induced boredom.

He looked around the gym and noticed a couple things he wouldn't have usually noticed, like how the wax needed refreshing and how the cushions on the walls were pretty worn (most likely from Hinata running into them constantly for a while.) the moss haired boy groaned loudly and leaned back to plop down, staring up at the ceiling with a pout.

Letting his head fall to the left, he noticed the stairs leading off the stage and a light bulb went off in his head as he struggled to make his little legs and arms help him up. He eventually got his tiny body to stand up, even if he did wobble a bit, and began his journey to the stairs, which he also... eventually got to.

As he arrived at the stairs he could hear the familiar, worry-toned voice of his vice-captain, "Guys, where's Yamaguchi?" The replies were most likely silent shrugs as the next thing he could hear was the disciplinary mother figure suddenly screeched, "What do you mean!! We have to find him, he could be dead!"

And with that, a game of hide-and-seek commenced.

The child Yamaguchi giggled at this and darted down the hall before ducking into a room when he hear the door at the end of the hall open. He decided to hide behind a cart of volleyballs and listened as the footsteps trekked down the hallway before stopping in front of his door and turning the knob, opening the door and looking around. The child watched as Hinata nervously peeked into the room before quickly closing the door and jogging back down the hallway. Yamaguchi let out a huff of air he didn't realize he was holding and stood up with a small grin.

This was fun!

He rolled the cart out of the way and made for the door again, opening it and booking it down the hall again to the gym. He peeked his head out the door as it creaked open and giggled as he watched Daichi crouched over Sugawara, who was lying on his side in a relative ball sobbing about how, "we killed him, he's dead... uwah.." Yamaguchi snickered softly and tip-toed to the door, unsure where the other members were, but he made it to the sliding metal frames and stood confidently, "Captain! Suga-san!" He called to the two males in the middle of the gym and grinned as they both whipped their heads in his direction and as relief washed over Sugawara's face, "Oh thank the gods, Yamaguchi-kun, you're okay!" He stood as the kid across the gym grinned and put his small hand on the door and the parent figures of the team froze.

"Yamaguchi no."

The tiny hand slid the door open and the grey-haired male made a break for the kid who shrieked laughter as he booked it away from the gym.

"You'll never catch me Suga-san!"

And that he was right.

Somehow the small child had managed to outrun the setter as they turned corners of the school building and ducked in and out of empty classrooms and eventually Sugawara lost the small Yamaguchi, who was now sitting in a broom locker holding his tiny hands over his mouth, giving heavy but soft breaths as he caught the oxygen his small lungs needed. As he waited for a moment and heard nothing, he grinned and giggled, wobbling and squirming his way out of the locker with ease. He stood in the empty music room and smiled with more giggles before making his way to the entrance of the school, then stealthily (well as stealthily as his wobbly legs can manage) made his way to the gym doors where he pressed his ear to the cold metal of the door.

"I couldn't find him either!"

"Sugawara-san almost had him, but he got away!"

"Don't worry Saltyshima-kun, Yama-kun is probably safe!"

Yamaguchi's eyes widened as he heard the nickname for his best friend. He had forgotten all about the blond in the midst of his antics and could only wonder how much the blond was worrying about him now, but... that thought immediately flew out the window as he heard a very familiar, daunting voice behind him.

"Oh? What's this? Ne, kid, what are you doing here?"

As Yamaguchi turned around, the brunette hair of the all to familiar Seijoh captain came into view... and that was when he burst into tears.
