As I walk along the desolate route that will take me home, I smile happily at the slightly cold wind blowing in my direction. It is mid fall and I couldn't be happier, well actually I could, but I'm got going to dwell on that.

I see a old apartment style building with the outside wall painted a bright, ugly yellow and a sign saying 'Sunny Days Orphanage.' I sigh a little bit and think welcome home, Winter.

Walking through the equally horrendous door, I see a tall girl with blonde hair standing a few feet away. I sigh quietly and smile at her. "What do you need, Ms. Alissa?" I ask quietly.

"We have a family coming in about an hour. Go wait in your room," Alissa says curtly before walking away.

I shake my head and smirk sarcastically before heading up the stairway that leads to my room. "Nice to see you too..."

After slouching up the stairs, or as I call them, killing machines, I finally get to my room. I open the door to the barren room and sigh. My walls are painted a snowy white and the bed has a black cover. The medium sized dresser in the corner of my room is stuffed with my clothes. The white desk in another corner of my room holds my phone, which its screen is cracked, and some of my stuffed Pokemon's.

I flop down onto my bed, dislodging my Dan and Phil plushies. I smile as they fall from on top the pillows to on my chest.

About an hour after silently waiting in my room and listening to music, I see my door open from the corner of my eye. I jump and turn around, my earbuds being yanked out of my ears by the suddenness.

When I see who is at my door, I freeze. Dan and Phil. They are right in front of me. I can't believe it. Phil smile a little and says, "sorry for just barging in, but it seemed you couldn't hear us knock."

"Oh... I-I'm sorry," I stammer out, looking at the floor.

"You have no reason to apologize," Dan says, smiling a bit.

I look up at them, my blue and black hair falling to cover my eyes. "I'm W-Winter."

"I am Phil and this is Dan," Phil introduces the both of them.

"I know... I've been a big fan of both of you for a while now."

After a few minutes of asking questions they ask me something I never expected: "Winter, would you like to be part of our family?"

I gasp, shocked. "A-are you sure?" When Dan nods, I smile. "Yes, I would love to be part of your family."

Dan and Phil nod. "We will go fill out the paperwork while you pack," Phil says.

I nod and watch them walk out. As I start to pack, I laugh a little. "Wow, Winter... Don't go replacing your biological family now... Or if you want to, then you can just be a bad family member."

I shake my head and sigh as I finish packing. I go to meet up with Dan and Phil. Soon enough I am out of Sunny Days Orphanage and into my new life as Dan and Phil's new 'daughter.' I wonder how this will turn out.
