Going to class with the hangover of the century is probably the worst decision you could ever possibly think of.

I was woken up by the alarm clock at 8 this morning and I couldn't remember anything from last night besides leaving the party early. I hadn't heard from either Brianne or Jane, but I guess I'll see them later anyway. I feel like my head is going to explode. I swear to God, I will never drink (too much) and show up in class hungover anymore. I've made a decision to get my life together and become a successful, independent woman who don't need no man.

"Class, I have graded your tests last week. Most of you have done a great job. More than half of you got a B or above... let me see... only one of you failed. So that's great. Feel me to contact me if you have any questions. That's all for today, see you on Thursday," Professor Mendes ended the lesson. Professor Mendes was a nice enough woman, but her lessons are quite monotonous and you can't depend your life on her for good grades. Since the beginning of sophomore year, her words went through me like money- gone the next second. I couldn't concentrate in class with a killer hangover. Economics was never my best subject, but I put up with it and did okay in class. Who on earth is stupid enough to fail economics anyway?

I went in front of the lecture room to get back my paper.

F.

A big, red F stung my eyes. What the heck happened? I thought I done well.

I just couldn't believe my eyes. My grades were sometimes good, sometimes bad but never as bad as this.

"Professor Mendes? May I ask why did I get an F?" I asked politely.

"Olivia, have you read what you've written?"

I scanned through my essay, it was a bit unorganised but it makes perfect sense! Obviously I have written this in a yet again hungover state, but still it isn't that bad.

"Well, yes, but why can't this concept apply to this situation?"

"Olivia, you haven't been listening to me in class lately," she adjusted her glasses and said, "have you been attending any tutorials?"

"Well, um... No, I've been busy," I vaguely remember I signed up for the tutorials in the beginning of the semester.

"Maybe you should, if my class can't help you fully understand these basic concepts, or else it will be very difficult for you to finish the next project," she gathered her books and said before leaving.

I let out a long sigh, so much for getting my life together. Great job, Liv! I internally high-fived myself.

I called Brianne but it went straight to voicemail, so I dialled Jane's number instead.

"Hey, Liv. What's up?" answered Jane cheerfully.

"Hey, have you seen Brianne? Are we still going to Antonio's tonight?" Antonio's is the best Italian restaurant around, their lasagnas are the best.

"Uh, sorry. We're going on a double date tonight, just decided yesterday. With Brianne and Ricky. But you can come too," said Jane apologetically.

Fifth-wheeling again? Maybe not. "How about lunch? Where are you going for lunch?" I said hopefully.

"I'm supposed to meet Dylan in a minute, but I think we're eating out."

"Oh okay... actually I've got things to do. I guess I'll see you later."

"Okay, bye."

"Bye," very well then. Guys are leaving me, my grades are leaving me, now my friends are leaving me for their boyfriends too? Brilliant. I'll just go back to dorm and sleep.
