Going into school was like a wave of reality washing over him. He couldn't live in that cozy world of blankets and Luca's arms forever, now he had to fight through the sea of teenagers. Judgmental, fake, too scantily clothed and perfumed to be considered decent human beings. Asa didn't hate all the girls in low cut tops, and he tried not to press too harsh of an opinion on to them, but he couldn't help rolling his eyes when he saw them draped across the brick in front of the school.

What he hated even more than that was the way Luca's eyes swept over them, observantly, as if appraising them. None of them were good enough for him, they were all out to get their next man. A husband for the night and he deserved someone looking for a life partner. Maybe a little bitterness, a little jealousy seeped into his tone but he really couldn't help it. If he just wasn't a boy...he could be perfect for him. They could have a wonderful relationship and a nice house and two kids and a dog in the backyard...

"Hey bleacher boy!" Asa jumped at the sudden shout right next to his ear, clutching his chest and gasping for a few moments. He hadn't expected Gavin to show up out of no where and shake him from his wonderful day dream, but it was all right. That was only a fantasy and big burly basketball players shouting in his ear were the reality. He turned to smack his friend on his arm, pouting lightly and pretending to be upset. Gavin looked good today, longer black hair combed back and green eyes shining. He was just as big if not bigger than Luca, muscles pressing against the fabric of his shirt. Why did he have to be born so unlucky and small. "You didn't have to yell so loud I'm not deaf...you know not deaf yet. If you keep screaming like that I might lose my hearing."

Gavin threw his arm over Asa's shoulders, pulling him closer to him with a big grin. "Come on...you're out with us at every basket ball game with hundreds of screaming fans and cheerleaders, eventually you are going to go deaf. I'm just...helping it come a little faster." The smaller boy rolled his eyes and tried to pull away, whining a little when his grip only tightened. "I don't want it to come any faster! Luca help..."

The blonde boy only laughed and gave him a small wink, waving when Marie and one of her friends came walking up. Marie and Gavin had been dating for almost a year now and it was obvious that they were the perfect couple. Cute little after game dates, sometimes she'd come to school with his oversized shirts on, and they'd talk about what kind of house they were going to have one day. Asa was extremely happy that one of his friends could be happy even if he wasn't completely and possibly never would be. It was a slightly negative outlook on things, but one he'd come to accept as fact.

"Let the poor boy go Gavin, his fragile little neck can only take so much." Marie scolded lightly and plucked her boyfriend's arm off of him, placing it around her own shoulders instead. Gavin pulled her too him straight away, ruffling her perfectly straightened hair much to her dismay. Asa jumped back immediately, avoiding Luca's hand swinging for his neck this time. He shot a glare at his friends and went back to his car so he could pull his books out.

"The work I did for you last night is already in your notebook Luca, just make sure you recopy it before that class period." Asa said and slung his book bag over his shoulder, eyes flickering over to the door when the warning bell rang, signaling it was time for them to go to class, that they had five minutes to get there. He had first period Pre Calculus with Marie, which was lucky for him. It meant he'd get a chance to talk about what happened this morning with someone who already knew his secret. The whole Luca holding him thing wasn't new, but walking in on him with that sweater definitely was. Maybe he'd handled the situation well, but what if he'd indicated? What if something like that happened again and he couldn't fight doing something?

"Okay let's go to class guys, everyone do their work, don't make cute little bleacher boys do it for you." Marie said loudly enough for everyone in the group to hear and it made Asa chuckle lowly. She really could get down to business if she needed to, take charge of the group. He certainly wasn't bold enough to do it. Whenever something happened like last night he would just help his friends out, but Marie was just kidding anyway. If Gavin fell asleep after a game like that she would definitely do his work for him as well.
