The coach blew the whistle, and I tumbled into the water.
I tried to dive, but slipped on the black edge of the pool. I thought to myself, is this over, will I make it? I kicked my feet, water splashing behind me as I stormed on. I had almost caught up to second place when a seagull decided to use the washroom. The white slimy seagull poop splat on my head, and in disgust I swam to the depths of the pool.
The boy behind me hollered out: "cheater!" He pushed his face under the water and bit my toe. I was at last place. First place was put of the pool. I might just have a chance for second last!
I swam as fast as I could, and finished the race.
Placing third, they announce that I have been disqualified.
I jumped out of the pool with my fists clenched. My mom reached out for a hug and tried to sooth me by saying: "nice try."
My brother Jordan went on looking for a fight like usual no wonder the girls fall all over him they thinks he's bad but to be honest he's a goodie two shoes at home.
We all got in the car and went home, I got in the shower as fast Soon as I got home i tried to wash the poop from my hair but it was stuck I reached for the shampoo and it was empty so I grabbed my dad shampoo it was also empty so I just kept pulling at it till it came out
I stepped out of the shower and stretched out my arm to grab my towel but I forgot to get one so got out and called for my mom but Jordan came and spoke through the crack of the door and said she just left to aunt Caitlin's house
So i asked for the towel he said "ok" he brought it to me then I dried off I just sat in bed about to lay down when my mom comes in smelling like horse manure I plugged my nose and asked where she went she said to feed the horses and clean the stalls I told her she smells, and I got grounded
The next day, still grounded in my room with no phone or iPod I only have my cousins laptop she left here, I logged onto Facebook and my auntie posted a picture of my mom and her rolling in the pig pen and another picture of them standing in a huge pile of horse manure, I commented on the picture and said " I knew mom smelt like horse poop"
After I sent it I realized my mom was tagged in the photo and she must have saw my comment because she came in my room and started yelling at me then took the computer
Another day past and I still have two days left of grounding I had to go to sleep early this night because I have school in the morning and another swimming lessons starts too.
I woke up earlier then usual and rubbed my eyes then got up to get breakfast for my mom so I can suck up and try to get off grounding. As I was walking into her room she wasn't there so I walked into Jordan's room and asked him to drive me to school.
In math class I was asked a question no person right off the bat would even know she said if you have three hundred and divide it by thirteen then multiply it by eight how much do I have? I answered and said about 100 she said no wrong and on the test she took off twenty percent of my mark.
School finally ended and Jordan was there to pick me up I explained to him about the test and said mom was going to be mad,
He looked really upset I asked him what was wrong them he pulled into the Dairy Queen parking lot and said: "mom was in a car accident...she died" while my eyes started to water a tear flew down my face then a boy in my class named carter was waking out with a group of friends all holding a blizzard he called out to me and said " hey look guys Alexis is crying ! Haha what a baby"
As I got home something happen to me a man spoke to me saying believe in me and I will solve your problems, and right after he said he was god and he asked me to pray, so I did and I felt a warm ness inside my heart that I've never felt before and I felt happy.
The next day before school I told my dad what happen and that I prayed and felt happier he replied and said "god is the answer to everything" I didn't understand what he meant but I smiled and walked on.
After school before swimming lesions I prayed again, I won The race, when I got home I asked my dad if he could change my school from public to catholic she said: " yes"
and from that day on I have never been jinxed again
(A few months later Alexis's father died of cancer and all she had left was her brother)
