The adventure begins

Introduction

Leif, Dragon Empress of all the Valdt, has sent a summons for a questing party. She will only accept those willing of a challenge. Your quest is this: to trek across the Valdt to retrieve a mysterious artifact that is heavily guarded by mysterious, venomous, and even magical creatures. The journey will be perilous, and not everyone will make it back alive. The Empress is depending on you brave souls.

See the map above? That is the map of the areas in the Valdt where you will be traveling. And that little red dot is where you begin your quest. If you accept the quest, you will travel to the barren desert far past the lost palace.

You must begin along the border of the Harrow Forest, but be wary. Hardly anything that enters the Harrow Forest is ever seen again. This updated map will show you your route:

The map will be in every chapter to help your quest, and it may be vital if your journey takes a wrong turn.

And now, let us begin!

You all arrive at an inn not far from the palace. This is where the Empress' summons directed you to go to inquire about the quest. As you look at the parchment and the shabby inn around you, you wonder if this is the place. Inside the lobby of the inn, it smells of pine and cedar, with just a hint of cinnamon. A dragon is in the corner, surrounded by a few wyverns and a very spotted serval like withyr sprite. The dragon is small, the size of a horse, and pale green with iridescent wings. She's the smallest adult dragon you've ever seen, and she can't be over nineteen for a dragon. She makes eye contact with you, and as you look into her eyes, you notice that they are a stunning icy blue. The dragon nods your way and beacons you to come nearer.
