Dressed in a black Armani three piece with white shining cuff-links, Shakeb looked at his appearance in the mirror. His tall figure of 5'9", fair skin, black hair, brown eyes, long pointed nose, strong jaw with a light beard made him look like a Greek god.
"All set to go to your middle class friend's wedding." He turned to look at his mother standing at the door with an annoyed look. His mother was a sophisticated lady with a class and attitude. She never liked his son's friendship with Kamran.
Kamran was Shakeb's best friend. They knew each other from 8 years. Even though Shakeb was friendly but many of his friends were for namesake or more specifically money sake. But Kamran was different. He never took advantage of his social status. He was always there for him whenever he needed a friend.
"Common mom. Why do you always see his status rather than his heart? He is a good person and my best buddy. Not like the one's from your high profile families." Shakeb said not liking his mother's choice of words for his friend.
"Shakeb you are very innocent. You don't know such people. They act sweet in the beginning then stab us. They are greedy for money." His mom continued bad mouthing his friend. Shakeb don't get it why his mom has so much problem with middle class people. Born and brought up in a rich family, his mother always despised poor people. She had no reason for so much hatred for such people.
"Enough now mom, I'm getting late. See you. Bye." Saying so he left not even waiting for his mom's response. Sometimes his mother seriously forgets her limits and go on and on humiliating people.

"Congrats man." Shakeb hugged congratulating him. Kamran thanked him and introduced his wife.
"Mahveen, this is Shakeb my best friend. And dude, she is Mahveen, my love." Mahveen blushed on his introduction and mumbled hello to Shakeb.
"It's hardly been hours of wedding and already you are head over heals haan." Shakeb teased his friend and Mahveen looked down blushing. Nikah was held in afternoon in the presence of close relatives. Both the families agreed to have a joint wedding reception. It was held in the banquet hall and had mixed gathering.
Shakeb moved aside to let other people congratulate the couple. He was looking around the hall admiring the decorations when his eyes fell on a girl standing at corner end of the hall.
She was wearing white frock lined with black velvet lace and chudidhaar. She was fair with big black eyes, cute button nose and slightly heart shaped lips which were painted with red lipstick. Her eyes were coated with liner and kohl making it more prominent. Her cheeks had a light pink shade of blush making her look like an epitome of beauty. But what made her more beautiful was the black hijab wrapped around her head.
She looked scared, fear reflecting in her eyes. He kept looking at her and realized that they are wearing contrasting colours, black and white. Shakeb was just lost in gazing her, who he thought descended down from heaven. 'Pari (Angel).' His mind said which brought a smile on his face.
Kashish looked at the number of people buzzing around her. She hated mixed gatherings and that's why she chose a secluded corner where no one will disturb her. While scanning the people her eyes met with Shakeb who was looking at her without blinking. She became conscious and turned her back so he couldn't see her. But her cousins pulled her along to meet the bride and groom.
