1953, the "greatest" era of time. The golden era. Yeah, maybe golden and great for white, straight men. You really hit t,he marker there. Moving on. Angel was new to this town, looking for a new start away from her family who looked at her as if she had like 7 faces. After working for what felt like forever moving into her apartment by herself, she decided to head down to the little diner, Sunrise Diner to be exact. It was a cute little place at the end of the street corner a few blocks away from Angel's apartment. It was just an overall exhausting day for her as she walked down the street, watching all the couples who were not discriminated for loving someone. Angel's turned her attention away from them as she entered the diner, with the little bell on the door and all. She seated herself and after a few minutes, one of the waitresses was being harassed by a few guys in a booth next her. "Piss off, would you?" Angel said angrily, defending the waitress she didn't know. The men were obviously upset, as they started shouting at Angel. Then the waitress straight up punched one of the men in the face. "You're well too recognised here, and not in a good way. So it's time for you to leave, unless you want the fuzz to get involved that's just fine by me" The waitress hissed, looking like she was ready to punch him again. That seemed to spook the men as got up abruptly, shoving the waitress on their way out. "You okay?" Angel asked, attention shift back over to the waitress. "Yeah, I'm okay. they've been showing up here for about a week now. I hope they've left for a while at least." she replied. Angel glanced down at the waitress' name-tag. "Ari's a nice name" Angel said, trying to make conversation with her. "Oh, uh, thank you" she said "And you are?" Angel snapped out of her little trance "Oh, I'm Angel Reese." she replied a little flustered. "Guess we both have some odd names" Ari smiled a little. "So what's the deal with those guys?" Angel asked, resting her elbows on the table curious "Well they usually came here to harass me and other waitresses, but mainly me. Maybe see if I would give into them. I swear I woulda punched em' a hell of a lot more, but that's against our policy" Ari joked. Angel laughed, probably because she'll laugh even at someone getting a 12 inch piece of wood up their ass. "I could give you my telephone number if you want. Maybe we could meet up and have some coffee when I'm not working." Ari suggested, knowing it was probably a long shot, mainly because gays weren't valid hUMANS. "I don't have a telephone yet because I just moved in, but I can give you the address to my apartment if you want" Angel said starting to smile. Ari agreed and the two chatted for a while, and Angel forgot she even came here to eat and Ari forgetting she was even supposed to be working instead of flirting with a woman. Ari eventually took her order for something like a burger and was made for her. Eventually, Ari got in trouble and had to get back to work as Angel sat there in the dim booth at the diner. Am I developing a crush on a woman? They'd kill you for that nowadays.
