The Interviews
*interview day*
"Are you guys ready?" I asked Connor and James. "We have to do what we have to do, so I guess." "Don't worry guys we have a week to find the perfect roommate!" So we fixed up the last little things we had to do, and opened the door. We waited for about an hour and people started coming. After the first person came we jumped right into interviews. "Hi my name is brad and beside me here is James, and Connor. So how are you today.... Peter? Peter!" "Oh yeah hey yeah I'm pretty good I guess." In little effort to keep the conversation going, things went to awkward silence. "So Peter, do you have any hobbies?" "No." "Ok well do you have a favorite food or color or something?" "Those are three different questions, what the hell, which am I supposed to answer?" We all looked at each other and knew he wasn't the one."Ok, that's all for the interview thank you so much for coming, if you want to stay for the tour of the apartment you can hang out in the kitchen and enjoy some of the food that is set out." Peter said nothing in return and silently proceeded to walk into the kitchen. "Wow what a dick wad," James exclaimed, Connor and I agreed. Moments later we watched as Peter walked out with two of our spoons. James got up to run after him, and was luckily able to outrun him, wow, for once I am glad James goes to the gym so often!

Next up was my old friend from primary school who I hadn't seen in ages. "Hey man! How have you been!?!" He replied "Great, really great." "So Bryan, what is your current income situation at the moment?" "Well you know I'm pretty off and on a job right now, but I have an interview tomorrow so I'm crossing my fingers." We looked at each other concerned, "well you do know we need someone with a steady income?" He nodded. "I understand, but I always come through on my commitments!" "Well so what are you looking for in a roommate, before we tell you what we are looking for?" He smiled, "alright." He pulled out his phone. "I need someone who; lets me have girls over whenever I want, I need my own room, someone who doesn't expect me to clean, and a roommate who doesn't need me to be friends with me, just lets me live like i live alone." We couldn't believe our ears, although he was my mate, he was a horrible contender for a roommate. He didn't have one thing on his list that we were looking for. After a few more questions we gave each other the look and decided there was nothing more for him to say that could get him a spot in this apartment.

*6 interviews and 3 apartment tours later*

4:50 PM

"Well boys should we call it a day?"  The boys had started to take the waiting chairs out of the hall, and pick up the lists of contender information. I was still waiting. Waiting for the guy from the street, his blond hair, and blue eyes were like something id never seen before. Its not like I fine him attractive I just wouldn't mind sharing a room with him. "Well it isn't 5 o'clock yet, and we haven't really found anyone that stands out yet so lets just wait a little longer to see if anyone shows up."

5:01 PM

We were sitting on the couch staring at the door. James spoke, "Whoever you're waiting on brad they aren't coming." James ran up and slammed the door. "Hey wait man! You don't know that!" James stormed over to me, "I have been u since 5, and I am tired. I have had to put up with so much CRAP these past few days, i'm over it! I have listened to you with this roommate thing, but my patience is running thin." He took a deep breath, "Look, i'm sorry but the flyer said 5 it is 5:08 and no one is here but the two roommates you are already stuck with." James stormed off in a rage of tears.

suddenly there  was a knock on my door. I opened it and a painting boy was standing at my door. He was about 6 foot tall, with blue eyes, and blond.... it was him. The boy from a the street. He had on a freshly pressed suit and a very neat hair cut. "Hey! My name is Tristan Evans, and i'm here for the roommate position? I'm so sorry I am late, my job kept me to overtime." I was going to say come in, but Connor was, to my surprise, more excited than I! "Come in!" We guided Tristan over too the couch. After asking him the basic questions his age, full name, income, etc. we finally got James to come back out for the rest of the interview. "So Tristan what are you looking for in a roommate?" "Well roommates, who clean up after themselves. Also roommates who are accepting of everyone no matter religion, sexuality, political views anything. As well as people ho aren't selfish, but understand their boundaries. I don't have to much to demand I hope?" He looked concerned that he was being picky, but he was everything we were looking for. He was perfect! "no, no, Tristan you are the perfect candidate, and I think we can quickly make our decision so help yourself to something in the kitchen!" I ran into my room feeling like we had found the one! "I like him, no I love him!" Screamed Connor. I agreed, but James wasn't so sure. "He seems like a nice guy, but does he not seem like he could be uptight?" I shook my head, "no he seems like he just has a good head on his shoulders. Trust me. Besides when I first met yo I thought you were stuck up, but look how you turned out." After explaining how good of a roommate Tristan would be, and telling him how since it was my idea its ultimately my decision. Which in turn he yelled at me that we all have to live with him. After debating fro a good 10 minutes we came to a decision. "Sorry for keeping you Tristan, may I show you the door?" He got up and nodded. "Well thank you for considering me and have a good, evening," He seemed down. "Well Tristan, after lots of discussion we have decided that we would love to have you as a roommate!" He face turned from sorrow, to glee. "Thank you," He exclaimed. He looked at us all before engulfing us in a bear hug. We said our goodbyes ,and he started to leave before he turned around and proclaimed, "and guys since we're roommates now you can call me Tris!"
