Such an adorable ship. I love it.
I'm Elliot Jenkins. I attend school at this place called 'Westover High'. Everybody there is afraid of me. I'm fine with it. I mean, fear is power right? I kind of also told them I'm a legacy of Ares, so now they are extra scared of me, and cater to my every whim! Oh yeah, we kind of learned that the Greek Gods from mythology are real. Stupid, am I right? They probably just sit on their thrones all day, lording it over everyone else.
I am walking through the school gardens, searching for my favorite target. Grover Underwood. He likes to hang out here. Then I see him, sitting under aplaying some tune on a bunch of hollow sticks stuck together. He's wearing a 'Save the Wild' tee shirt. What a weirdo.
I came up to him.
"Hey freak." I said smirking, pulling him up and smushing his face against the tree. He made a noise that sounded kind of like a bleat. I laughed. Another reason why Grover was so easy to pick on. He never fought back (For those of you who are bullied, take notes.)
"Where are your friends, freak?"
He didn't answer.
"They don't exist." I said, taunting him.
"Where is your family?" I asked again, harsher.
He didn't answer. Sometimes bullying him got a little boring.
"They disowned you, probably because they didn't want to look at your ugly face."
I was confused. What would it take to get a reaction out of this guy? All my other targets cried, and if they talked back, they got beat up. Grover just did, well, nothing.
The I had an idea. I looked at Grover's shirt, then at the tree. I think is was a juniper tree or something.
"Wanna save the wild, freak? You ARE the wild." I pulled a branch off the tree and smacked him in the face with it.
Suddenly, a girl was standing in front of me. She had orange hair, and green eyes. Her skin was, weirdly enough, glowing dark green. She looked furious.
"GET THE HADES OUT OF HERE!" She said, punching me in the face, hard. What? No one had ever stood up for one of my targets before, and certainly not like that. I realized she was still yelling.
"-AND YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO GO AROUND HURTING TREES AND PEOPLE, AND MOST OF ALL MY BOYFRIEND!" She continued, her voice growing louder by the second.
I finally comprehended what she was saying.
"This is your boyfriend?" I said incredulously. She must be mistaken. I gestured at the pimply, bleeding boy on the ground.
"He's just the nobody. The freak. I think you've mistaken him for someone else."
"HE IS MY BOYFRIEND AND I LOVE HIM MORE THAN ANYTHING ELSE IN THE WORLD!" She screamed at me.
"You really mean it Juniper?" Grover said, weakly, rising off the ground. Blood dripped from the did of his face that had been against the tree.
"Yes." She said, speaking softly. She went over to Grover and pecked him on the uninjured side of his face. "Just don't look at anymore blueberry bushes." She said in a teasing tone.
"Now come on. Chiron said you don't have to go here anymore." She said, smiling lovingly at him.
I watched in shock as the happy couple made their way to the tree. Grover picked up his pipes, and played a short, cheery tune. In a whirl of green leaves, they were gone. All that was left was the leaves on the ground, and the faint smell of pine needles lacing the breeze.
--------Time skip brought to you by one of the Stolls (I can never tell)-------------------------------Omg I love this ship so much, it is so pure (ignore the blueberry bush for a second) and take a minute to think:
What would Gruniper babies look like?
And with that happy thought, I say goodbye, my little ghosts. Hope a child of darkness brightened your day, just a little bit.
