Shattered

Chapter 3

I turn into the school parking lot. I grab my stuff from the back seat and walk into the main building where some girls are staring at me. I see Alex with some of his mates so I just keep walking past him. I so do not want to be here. I walk to my home room and sit down since Jess and Ruby are not in my homeroom I have no one in here to talk to. Alex walks in even though this is not his home room.
"Are you okay, you just ignored me in the hallways." I nod not wanting to speak in case tears come pouring out. "What are you doing after practice?"
"Um, nothing I guess. Sitting at home. Why?" I ask quietly.
"Meet at your house after training you will find out then."
"Okay?" I say nervously.
Thoughts rush through my mind. What does he want? Is it the reason he was acting weird today? Is he breaking up with me? I get the thoughts out of my head and try and concentrate on now not later. I walk out of my homeroom and in to math. I love math. People call me weird because I like math. I am not I just have a strong intellect. I sit down next to Jess.
"He has something planed for this afternoon." I stare at my math text book "Is he going to dump me?" I look at her.
"Honey, if that boy dumps you today... I will kill him." I let out a little laugh. How can she say that. What is so special about today?
"What is so special about today?" I look at Jess she sits there with a smile on her face.
"Well um... I stole your letter from the car. You were accepted."
"Into?"
"Cheer camp duh. I wanted it to be a surprise." My eyes shoot up yo Jess's face I am so happy.
"Were you accepted?" I say looking at her. She looks at me.
"No, I am a dancer not a cheerer. You do the cheering for me, I dance for you." She looks at me. We both let out a giggle as the teacher walks in.
"What is so funny Kayla and Jess?" She says looking in our direction. I look at jess.
"Nun ya." Jess says looking at miss.
"Jessica go to the principal." I look at jess as she rolls her eyes.
"Miss this is stupid it was just an inside joke. Not like you would know. You have no friends." I cough while saying the last bit.
"Well then you also can go to the principal." I laugh so stupid.
I walk out of the room and laugh he is gonna call my mum and she will not pick up. She will be to busy for picking up ridiculous phone calls.

I look at the clock we have been sitting outside the principals office for ages it has became out new past time.
"Give me a S, give me a T, give me a U, give me a P, and an I, do not forget the D what does that spell STUPID." I say as I get up. "I am leaving. Got stuff to do. People to see." I say as I walk away.
"Your mum will kill you, you will get suspended." She says looking worried.
"Mum will not care I turned up drunk last night and she did not really care." I say as I walk away.
"MISS MILLER GET BACK HERE THIS INSTANT... IN MY OFFICE NOW." I look back and roll my eyes as I walk back I start to play with my nails. Could this day get any worse?
"Jessica you to!" Jess nods and follows me into the principals office. "Now care to explain why you are here today!"
"Nope, other then we laughed and then I stood up for Jess. Did not know it was such a crime to stand up for a friend." I say rolling my eyes.
"Less attitude. Now your parents will be contacted." He says looking at us.
"Well one of mine anyways." I look at him and walk out.

Jess's POV
Kayla walks out not listening to our principal.
"What is wrong with her, she is not her usual self today." He says as he looks in my direction.
"Stuff I guess, can I go now." I looks at him getting up.
"Sure." He says looking disappointed.

Kayla's POV
I walk outside and head to practice we create a new cheer routine. I fall off the pyramid.
"Kayla what was that?" Our captain walks up to me. "Hello I am talking to you!"
"Nothing, sorry."
"Whatever, from the top. Kayla stay after practice." She says walking to her starting position.
Great now I have to skip whatever Alex wanted to do.
Hey Alex, I have extra training today sorry -Kayla
Tell me when you finish then x -Alex
Will do x -kayla
I walk over to my water bottle and take a sip. I look around and back at my phone. Why has my mum not text me yet? Has something happened? I get the thoughts out of my mind. She is just busy. I put my phone in my bag and walk back over to the team.
"Dismissed, Kayla stay behind." I nod and watch the others leave.
"I am so sorry that I fell of pyramid."
"I know you are. I just..." She gets cut off when my phone starts ringing. "Are you gonna get that?"
"Yeah." I run to my bag and answer it. "Hello, Kayla speaking."
"Hello Kayla, I am Rebecca. I am from Paris General hospital. How are you today?"
"What is wrong? What has happened?" I look at Alice our captain.
"I am so sorry, your mother and sister where in a car accident. I am so sorry. Your mum is in a coma."
"And my sister?"
"She was pronounced dead at the scene. I am really sorry for you lose."
"Where am I going to stay I have no family around here?" I say as I start to cry.
"We have located an aunt of you. Abby Lee Miller." My heart shatters. Not Aunt Abby, not after what she has done. Please not her.
