Chapter 4

*Eli's POV*

Me and Grace finally saw each other for the first time since the summer. I missed her so much no one understood me - she was my dream girl. She finally showed up and I had already gotten our table at a new burger place - I can't remember the name - but it was on the water and it was beautiful, so I decided it would be nice to take her for dinner.

"GRACE I MISSED YOU SO MUCH" I said.

I kinda didn't sound like a 24 year old guy, but still, she ran into my arms and I held her in my arms, picked her up, and spun her around.

"I love you so much"

"I love you too Grace"

I escorted Grace to our table and pulled out her chair for her. Not even half a second later, our waiter showed up.

"Hi, I'm Kate and I'll be your waiter tonight. What can I get you to drink?"

Me and Grace both had to drive home tonight so I went with...

"Coke's for the both of us please."

Grace stared into my eyes and we both leaned in across the table and out lips met. Again for the first time since summer. Her lips tasted like sweet, cherry flavored lipstick. I knew what it was, because my mom used to force it on me as a child. It was one of those lipsticks made for the 10 year old girls that loved flavored lipstick. I thought it was so cute how she wore that.

When we stopped kissing, again not even half a second later, our waiter came with our sodas.

"Thank you." Grace and I both said basically synchronized.

"Ok and what would you like for your appetizers?"

"Actually can we just skip to the main course?" Grace asked. I didn't really want appetizers either.

"Sure. Ok what would you like?"

"Can I have the classic cheeseburger but with tortilla and potato chips on the side, and seasoned fries?"

"Sure, and for you?" The waiter asked looking my way.

"Can I have the um..." my eyes looked up and down the paper. "the veggie burger with fries please?"

"Sure. I'll be back with your meals."

It was basically just super awkward from then on. Grace was really quiet and I couldn't tell what was wrong. Being a gentleman I asked,

"Baby, are you okay?"

"Yeah, I- I'm fine."

"Okay, just remember you can tell me anything you need. If there's anything you need to tell anyone I'm here."

"You're the best Eli. I hope you know that. I love you so much baby."

"I love you too."

As I said that, I leaned in for another kiss. Now her lips tasted like Coke and the lipstick in one.

Those moments were little sparks, and she was herself during them, but besides that, she was basically really quiet. We finished our meals in mostly silence.

I payed for the check and took Grace to her car. We stood there staring at each other for a couple of minutes super awkwardly so I finally broke the silence.

"Grace, I missed you so much. I'm so happy I got to see you."

"I missed you too Eli. So much."

For the third time tonight, I leaned in and kissed Grace, holding her tightly in my arms. I felt her shivering, so I wrapped my jacket around her, held her again, and kept kissing her.
