Walking in the hallway full of lovey-dovey people frankly pisses me off. Dory Finmentail is my name, and alone on Valentines isn't my thing. I'm engaged to Josh Scott. With that being said you're probably wondering how I can feeling alone with a fiancé huh. Well he's a super workout-aholic! He may have put a ring on it but there is always a competition between myself and the love of a rock hard body. As I walk the hall it just sickens me with pure jealousy . Till death do us part wasn't coming any closer. Valentines was another dramatic holiday that everyone decided to spoil their significant other or that special someone in your life. With that being said why did it have such a drag on me. It's just another holiday , but in high school it was the talk of town. Letters in lockers, flowers, chocolates, couples holding hands, kissing etc. I walk down the hallway trying to shield myself from the toxic Valentines fever. My phone goes off and I get a text from Aéro. "Sorry I'm running late. Josh stopped me to talk. So I'll see you in class." I finally get to my first class after fighting off the love bug virus and plop in my seat. I pull out my notebook and begin to write vigorously. About all the things that already pissed me off for this day.
"Wow, someone's either really pissed or on a fuck the world mood," said Chelsea Gloon. I tend to call her Lovey she was always so happy just like me. We did almost everything together. Even though we've only known each other for a short amount of time we had made a tremendous bond together. I get up and crumbled the paper.
"Well you know Josh. Typical guy that forgets he has a fiancée!" I exclaimed practically almost yelling. I took a deep breath and signed.
"Josh on a date with the work out room today," she said sarcastically. If only it were a lie though.
"Why does my fiancé have to be a working jackass? I mean look even Aéro received flowers," I said wanting to slam my forehead on the desk. Aéro was my guy friend and only really close one that Josh approved of. Josh trusted me to the fullest but for all the guys around me I couldn't help their case. I was a very friendly girl and a lot of guys liked that trait plus the fact I was outgoing. After I'd tell them that I was engaged a lot would back down and carry on with their lives. The few would stay around and try to be more than friends or as they would say," waiting for him to slip up". I could see where Josh could be worried about losing me. So he didn't want to take a chance.
"Happy Valentines Day," said Aéro pulling me out of my thoughts. His real name was Peter Cuttworth but of course I called him Aéro.
"Happy Valentines Day," Lovey said all chipper. "Someone is in a bitchy mood if you catch my drift." I didn't know what was more obvious at this point Spinner staring at me, or Lovey pointing a huge arrow saying 'This girl here!'"
"Thanks, Lovey he'll never know who you're talking about," I said now worried about Spinner staring at me. Then my vision went red, and I kind of freaked out thinking someone had shined a laser pen in my eyes.
"Here," Aéro said smiling at me as he hands me two dozen roses. "Happy Valentines Day. Not that they mean anything. I mean it's perfectly fine to give a great friend some flowers sur-" I cut him off by giving him a huge hug and a smiling wiped across my face.
"Aéro thank you, " I said finally letting go. "Josh didn't forget to give me a Valentines gift after all."
"Josh!" He yelled. Everyone looked at him. He began to blush and looked at his shoes. "Josh wanted me to give those to you," he said running his hands through his hair. He looks up at me and gives me a smirk. "Sorry about my little outburst. I stubbed my toe that's why I yelled him name." He said with a smile. I looked at him and manage to give him a smile still confused about his outburst I looked back to the flowers and let it slip my mind. Our teacher walked in and asked everyone to have a seat. We all make our way to our table.
"Wow, Josh really went all out with those flowers. He really does have a heart in that rock body. You're a lucky girl to have a guy like him. I'm so jealous," Lovey said smelling the roses. I nodded my head and agreed with her statement. I was indeed a lucky girl. Mrs. Adeline begins class. I observed what was placed in front of me when I noticed from the corner of my eye a rose that was different from the others. It was plastic and tied around the stem was a note. I pull it out from the others and open the note. "I'll always be here for you while others change and get old I will love you greater with each passing day."
"Awwww how cute," I blurted out. The whole class looked at me. I look around slightly embarrassed.
"Ms. Finmentail not to rain on your parade but be quiet please."
"Sorry about that Mrs. Adeline." I said sipping the note in my bag.
"Flowers," she said amazed by the size and beauty. "Well someone must really care about you. Now if you could put your distraction away we will finish on with the lesson." I put my roses on the side. Out of my work space and tried focusing on the lesson in front but of me. I began to drifted off into Lovey dovey math lane.
