The Barton Crossing

Noa was not always so quiet and introverted, looking at the sky constantly as if looking for some response in the stars, a routine of 24 hours each day that gave him a false sense of security.

2 years ago February 25 year 2063

Modest upper middle-class house with a stone walkway that led from the sidewalk to the porch, two steps and a carpet that said welcome slightly worn were welcoming you.

Sean 18 arrives at the Sponner's house from the sidewalk and without using the stone walkway, jumps off the small white fence, treading the grass and tripping on Noa's bicycle, awkward as ever climbs the 2 steps, steps the worn out carpet and rings the bell ... This sound does not escape the attentive Noa who is ready to leave with Sean to the long awaited weekend in the national park Dawn Pick. He accelerates the step and gets ready to walks towards the entrance doing this he shouts...

mama! I'm leaving .. Do not let jenny enter my room and use my computer I have very important things there .. Ehmm .. College stuff..

-Jenny; I do not understand why you're so selfish, you have the only computer in the house.

-Noa, goodbye, mama, I'm leaving.

-mama; Bye son take care and be carefull do not forget to ask Dr Swartz about Richard if you see him in Bitmax

-Sean; What does Richard have?

-Noa; I have no idea but its been 3 days since I last saw him at home, after the blackout he started to feel bad and Dad took him to the hospital to see Dr. Swartz and since then I've known nothing about him, .

-Sean; after the blackout? How strange .. Mrs. Lois told me yesterday in Bitmax that her husband began to feel bad a couple of days ago and now that you mention it I have not seen him in Bitmax.

They both start to walk and talk

-Sean; did you see the photos of the weekend party? Stephany was with Drew .. Oh! Sorry Noa i forgot.

-Noa; Don't worry about it.. And yeah saw them. I have to move on you know, I knew that this would happen, I shouldn't have waited to invite her.

At this point Sean and Noa arrive at The Barton Crossroad, is the connection of the four main streets of Mineville and is just a few blocks from Bitmax.

-Sean; Have you heard about to the history of this place Noa?

-Noa; Of Course Sean who does not knows it in this town, as a child my Dad told me, although I don't  remember it very well .. It's just an old legend.

-Sean; Well my friend, it will be a pleasure for me to refresh your memory... The story tells us that at this Crossroads the four bearers of the orientation symbols that we now know as North, South, East and West pass here, They are 4 Semi-gods, each one carries a symbol representing a direction, each symbol connected to the system of rotation of the earth each one balances the other, one could not function without the other.

North is carried by Mantal silver and white vestment and departs the crossroads before south east and west, South carried by Nuglam departs before east and west but always after North amber and turquoise garb, East ported by Kina, she is the third to depart before the west, blue and magenta garb. West ported by Sathe red and black garb.

These 4 semi-gods maintain with their routes, the system of rotation and translation of the earth at the precise point where the earth can sustain life, at a perfect distance from the sun. their departures in this exact order maintains that balance.

Every 75 years the 4 semi-gods must find a new bearer for the symbol, which would absorb responsibility for 75 more years

The transition or change of carrier lasts for the duration of the comet we now call Halley and which the story calls "The watcher", the observer of the transition.

Once the current half god gives the symbol, the earthly one obtains the garment and ascends to semi god. For his part, the now former half-god restores his self to a earthly state and returns in time 75 years and 24 hours before he was chosen as a bearer and will remember absolutely nothing...

Sean; And well Noa that's about what I know.

Noa; I am impressed that you know the story so well, it would seem that you read it every day.

Sean; It's just is a simple hobby that I have, I find it very interesting.

But it was not just a hobby, he believes in it or rather he is completely convinced that that story is true and decided to be present in the Barton Crossroads within 2 years to see for himself the transition.
