"Ethan Grant!" I yell as soon as I find my voice.
"Oh come on, it's not even that bad. Just enjoy it!" says Ethan.
"Enjoy it?" I say, starting to have a panic attack.
All of a sudden, Gray touches my shoulder lightly. It's a small gesture, but it makes my breath catch in my throat anyway. Somehow that's not my top priority right now, however. I'm more busy worrying about how high off the ground I am.
"Are you okay?" he asks, and Ethan continues to laugh and enjoy his time up here.
"I-I hate heights," I say in a small voice.
"I know, that's why I did it!" yells Ethan excitedly.
"So do I," says Gray, ignoring Ethan.
"I know," I tell him breathlessly.
"If you two kiss right now I'm going to seriously throw up," Ethan butts in.
"Shut up, Ethan," says Grayson, staring out at the river as he holds my hand firmly.
Ethan shakes his head.
"You guys are so lovebirds," he remarks.
"Shut up," I say, and actually enjoy the view of New York City with my two favorite guys in the world.
We sit on the ride, suspended in midair, for another twenty or so seconds when Ethan suddenly turns to Gray and I, his face turning white.
"What's wrong, Ethan?" asks Gray nervously.
"I've never been up here so long in my entire life," he says.
"What do you mean?" I ask him, a tremor creeping up into my voice.
"I mean, I think the ride broke down," he says.
"Oh my God," I say, turning to Grayson, "Oh my God! I can't stay up here anymore, I'm going to die!"
"Shh, Kimmie, it's okay. I'll protect you," says Grayson, and I can't help feeling special, because I know he's scared out of his mind right now too.
"He means we'll protect you," says Ethan, grabbing my right hand and rubbing small circles on it lovingly.
Grayson kisses me on the cheek and does his best to rub my back through the restraints. It's actually more comfortable than I could ever imagine, sitting here stuck on this incredibly scary ride with these two.
And we sit, for more than two hours, waiting for the ride to drop us. Eventually it does, and when we get down I throw my arms around Grayson and then Ethan.
"Thank you! Thank you so much, you guys are the only reason I made it through that ride!" I yell.
They hug me back, Ethan laughing again and Grayson making a big show of kissing the ground.
"C'mon, should we go ride Superman?" Ethan asks.
Grayson groans.
"Another tall and freakishly scary one?" he says.
"Go big or go home!" yells Ethan, so we walk off to get in line for Superman. Awesome.
