Eren's POV (Present Day)
The first day of school. Well, for me anyway. I'm at another house, or at least that's what the system thinks. I payed off the foster parents to say I still lived with them, while I live in a small house they owned. So, I guess technically I'm still living under their roof. But one of the things I had to agree to was go to school.
So that's why I'm currently walking down the halls, keeping to myself. Actually, I'm trying to. But a blonde, Armin, seems to have decided our friendship. He's showing me where everything is, and I'm trying to keep up with him.
"This is biology. But you don't have that, of course, because you're a senior. And here's..." I tune out, not really speaking, just nodding. A pair of fingers in front of my face snap together. Blinking, I look at Armin.
"S-sorry." I mumble. But he just rolls his eyes and smiles.
"It's okay. Anyway, which lunch do you have? A or B?" Before I can reply, he hooks a finger on my binder, pulling it down to see my schedule on the front. "Sweet! We both have A lunch! Wanna sit with me? I could let you meet the othe- Oh crap! Watch out, Eren!" Armin grabs for me, but someone else slams into my back. The person falls on me, and my breath leaves with a whoosh.
I try to get up, and fail. "P-please get off... I c-c-can't b-breathe..." I manage to say.
The person rolls off and clutches their stomach. "What the hell, Levi?!" A short man with black hair, an undercut, and an all black outfit except for a white shirt, stares the Ground Person down. He must be Levi.
"Well, Horseface, don't fucking start shit you can't finish." He walks over and grabs "Horseface" by the shirt. "And don't ever, and I mean ever, call me short again. I'll kick your ass so hard, your own damn mother will congratulate me for fixing your fucking face. The only thing the rest of your body will be good for is a fucking door stop." Levi tosses him aside like yesterday's paper. Then he holds his hand out to me. When I take it, he pulls me up. "Sorry." He walks away, never changing his stoic face.
Armin laughs at my face. "You look like a deer in headlights. Why?"
Shaking my head, I say, "Nothing. I-it's just that Levi d-dude seems....n-nice." Looking. He looked like heaven. And his voice was so deep, so smooth....
Armin scoffed. "Yeah right. Nice my ass. He's a dick." I bet he has a big one, too. No Eren! Bring the mental bar of soap out, and clean your thoughts!
I feel my face redden. "O-oh. S-sorry. I d-didn't know."
"You apologize too much." Again, he laughs. "Anyway, the bells going to soon. Believe me, you don't wanna be late to Chemistry. Mr. Dula will string you by your toes!" I smile a little, then let him drag me to class.
***
It's last period, which luckily is study hall. So far I have Armin in all m classes. That dude Levi in all but two, and I'm also lucky he's in this class, and a couple of Armin's friends in the others. When he finishes his homework, Armin turns around to face me.
"So... " he draws out the "o" and wiggles his eyebrows. "Any girls that have turned your head yet? If not, I bet Erwin could find someone for you. He's really good at that." Erwin is Armin's boyfriend, who I met at lunch.
Nervously, I rub the back of my head. "Ah, no. No g-girls." He widens his eyes and grins brightly.
"Are you gay?!"
I nod, feeling heat rush to my cheeks like a fangirl running to their senpai. Girls have never interested me. Many have tried, and all have failed. But some guys, well, they make me think "hot damn." So, I of course came up with the conclusion a long time ago.
Armin claps his hands and does a little dance in his seat.
"Do you know what this means?!" I shake my head wearily. "Our group will finally have an even gay number!"
What is he talking about? "W-what do y-you mean, a-an e-even number?" Damn stuttering. Oh well. At least it made my "innocent" thing seem more believable. It's not like I do it on purpose though, it just happens. I've never been good at talking. Well, except when I do my... you know... night thing. But that's because if I didn't, I wouldn't be alive. Now, talking in general, that just makes me nervous.
Armin rests his head on my desk. "Well, there's Erwin and I. Then there's Mikasa and Annie, and Ymir and Christa. And Levi doesn't hang out with us a whole lot, but he's Erwin's friend, so he counts." He taps his chin. "Oh! And there's Jean and Marco. That's the whole group. So we have nine people. But now we have ten!"
My lord this boy can talk. For some reason, he reminds me of a coconut.
"So...Levi's the available one." He wiggles his eyebrows again, then we both look over to the raven. He was a couple rows away with headphones in. His head was angled slightly as he did his work, and as I watched, his face scrunched up thoughtfully. Glancing at the ceiling, Levi took a few seconds before writing down an answer. The pencil made his hand look elegant, classy even.
I let my eyes travel. Beautiful pale fingers, arms that made it obvious that he worked out, smooth neck, and- oh shit. My blue-green eyes met his cool grey ones. Levi ripped a piece of paper out of his notebook, and scribbled something on it. A few folds later, a paper airplane is sent at my face. It found it's target.
Before I can open it, Armin snatches it. Reading it, he grabs my phone off my books, and takes a picture of Levi. Levi only rolls his eyes, and goes back to his work. Grabbing the paper, I read it.
Take a picture brat. It'll last longer.
Growing bright red, I look at the picture Armin took. No way I'm deleting that.
