Drama class. Jana's least favourite class. Today they were acting out ancient Egyptian myths and legends. Her role was the Beetle goddess of sorcery. This goddess was locked up in a pyramid after trying to prevent an enemy king to go to the afterlife. Boring. Glancing up at the clock, she read the time as 11:45. Just a few more minutes until lunch. She was starving. The last thing she ate was an apple for breakfast, since she had no time to sit down and eat. She had to run to catch up to the bus this morning. Jana sighed and twiddled the small key prop that was in her hand. This was supposedly the key that lead to the exit if she found it, of course. Suddenly, the power flickered. Once, twice, thrice, and it was out. There was a bright flash of lightning followed by a roar of thunder. The teacher was so frightened by all of this that she let the students out to lunch early. Jana smirked, knowing she caused the storm and power outage. You'd do it too if you were starving and had powers. Jana skipped to her locker, grabbed her lunch, and sat down, chatting with friends, eventually ending he storm and returning the power.

There was a storm brewing over the pyramids, but this was no normal storm. Lightning only struck in one place: the shrine of the Ancient Scarab. This was the prediction of an old legend, one believed to be nothing but a tall tale. This is what it is:
When he who walks the path of the garden takes the jewelled apple, the long forgotten insanity of men will re-arise, for this apple is the key to break the Master Wizard's spell. Once the shrine is struck 7 times, time will reverse to when no one was safe.
That day, some hungry fool had plucked the jewelled apple from its perch. That fool had doomed humanity, and there was no turning back.
