"Be quick Ameena, We are going to miss our flight", Ameena's father, Mr. Isa said.

He was in his early forties. He was a Naval officer and was posted to different countries. And now he's being posted to the California.

"Sorry father", a melodic voice was heard as she entered a white highlander jeep.

She was wearing a purple veil and a long flowing Abaya. Ameena was sad as she was leaving Jordan mainly because she was going to miss her friends. Yasmin, Farida and Husna.
Ameena silently prayed that she would find this country very friendly and peaceful.

Nigeria was her home country but the last time she visited Nigeria was when she was five years old.

Her father has always been posted to different countries for official purpose. He was first posted Syria which claimed the death of her mother.

It was a fateful night when her mother had just finished preparing baked riccota cheese and mushroom sauce. Mrs. Yusra, Ameena's mother prayed maghrib (sunset prayer) and waited impatiently for Ameena and father to come back from the ice-cream spot.

The terrorists were afraid that Dr Isa and his colleagues may arrest them so they decided to get rid of him. Fortunately for Dr Isa he wasn't at home so his wife had to bear the punishment. She was killed in a cruel manner.

When Ameena and her father got home they were utterly devastated not only because of her death but also because of my little baby who was still in her womb. Ameena wept helplessly as she saw her mother's lifeless body in a pool of blood. They had stabbed her. As days turned into weeks, weeks turned into month, and month into years, She got over the traumatic incident. But deep down, Ameena was shatteredly broken.

Mr. Isa would always refer to Ameena as 'brave'  because despite her tragic experiences, she couod still laugh and play like a normal teenager, but Ameena was secretly scared, the  thought of her father getting married to another woman infuriated her because she thought he would crave for a male child.

The remembrance of her mother's death glistened Ameena's eyes with tears. She blinked to stop any tear from rolling down her cheeks. Her father would only get worried and that was the last thing she wanted for him now. She darted her gaze to him and smiled. Even though their lives has been based travellings, wars, and deaths. They were still always together and that gladdened her heart. Her mother was no more but Allah blessed her with a caring and present father, to Ameena, that was enough reason to be grateful to her Lord.

Thirty minutes later, they arrived at the airport. After all the necessary checkings, they got seated in their required seats and their journey to the California began.
