He was nothing but trouble

Prologue

Anna's pov

I just came home from William's house , and I see my mom sitting on the sofa crying.

"Mom what's wrong?" I ask worried. "Honey , thank God you're home , please go immediately to your father's office." She said sobbing.

I wonder what happened , I never saw my mom like this. I went running to my father's office cause I was really curious about what he wants to tell me.

I knocked on the door 3 times already , I don't think he is here.
I was about to walk out when I heard saying for me to come in.

"Hi Daddy , why was mom crying ?" I ask him.
"Your mother is worried about something that I still need to tell you , so I'll say it right away. You're going to be engaged soon. " He said with a serious face.

I zoned out that moment , asking myself if I heard him say 'engaged soon' , could it be?.. Is William really going to ask me to marry him?. I was so happy about this news but I didn't understand why my mom was crying if she likes William.

"Anna , are you listening?" My dad said interrupting my thoughts.

"Engaged?!. Did William ask you for my hand?" I was super excited.
Dad shook his head. "It's not William you're going to marry soon. You don't know him yet but tomorrow you'll meet him." My dad said with a serious tone.

"ARE YOU FUCKING INSANE DAD?!" I said screaming. I was boiling out of anger that moment.
"Young lady watch your words while you're in my house!" He said in a higher tone. I saw that he was getting mad. But I didn't understand why me. I would never forgive him , he knows how much I love William and now he's forcing me to marry a guy I don't even know. I'm 21 goddammit! and he still wants to make choices for me.

"Anna it's only for a year. We have debts with Knight family and the only we can pay that debt is by you marrying his son , Xavier Henry Knight. You'll be married to him for a year. Then our debt is payed" he said smiling. I don't know how he can smile when he just sold me to pay his fucking debts.

"YOU'RE GOING TO SELL YOUR OWN DAUGHTER?!" I said while crying.
"Sweety you'll sign a contract , you don't have to worry. It's only for a year. How bad could it be?" He said still smiling.

"Then why don't you go and marry him if you think it's nothing. You're not my father anymore. I HATE YOU!" I said running to my room. I cried myself to sleep.

Xavier's pov.

My dad called me saying that I needed to be home soon as I could cause he was going to tell me a good news. When my dad says 'good' it's because it's something bad.
I got home and I went straight to see him in his office.

"Son , I'm glad you came" he said trying to sound happy about my arrival. My dad and I never had a good relationship after my mom died. So if he's "kind" it's because he wanted something.

"Cut the crap old man , and tell me what you need this time." I said in a serious tone.
"Okay fine. You're going to be engaged to a beautiful woman and you'll meet her tomorrow. If you don't accept it you won't be the next CEO of Knight Enterprise. " He said smirking.

He knew I never had a serious relationship with women but he still wants me to get engaged and married. I knew I had to but not now!. I'm 26 goddammit! And he still makes decisions for me.

"To who?" I ask.
"To Anna Claire Jackson. And the reason why is because her father has a debt with me and I told him that if he let you marry his only daughter , I wouldn't bother him anymore by asking for my money , so you will sign a contract that is a year of marriage. You and her will live together in a penthouse. Any questions?" He asked.

I was trying to take this all. What if she isn't pretty at all. Could I still have sex with other girls? , Go clubbing? , Finish my studies?. I got many questions.

"Can I still fuck other women? , What happens to our studies? , How old is she? Is she cool with this cause I don't want a crazy woman attacking me when we see each other" I said almost laughing at the thought of that.

"Of course you may not fuck other women. You stopped school for awhile that's why you're graduating so late , but she is also going to graduate this year. She's 21 studying to be a veterinarian. And her father called me and said that she's fine, now as you know everything here is the contract , sign it and you're free to go. But tomorrow be here by 9am. Cause her father is bringing her to meet you." He said standing up .

I signed the damn contract , I didn't like the idea that I was going to get married but I needed to. I needed to clear my head so I called one of the girls I know to spend the night with me. If you know what I mean.
