Everything was fine, until it wasn't. Everything was fine until Isaac Lahey had gone missing. It had been a very quiet, uneventful summer, and Ryan loved every minute of it. All she and Isaac did was help Derek Hale find a new place. Other than that, they did pretty much nothing besides training for when the alpha pack were to show up. And they kissed. A lot. Too much maybe for two people that were "just friends". Every time Isaac tried to bring it up, Ryan just shut him down. But none of that mattered, he was gone.

"Ryan," Derek growled at the beta," You have to go to school."

"No the fuck I don't," Ryan snapped back," Not until we find my missing best friend! Anyways, since when did you care about my education?"

"I want you to have somewhat of a normal life! Don't worry about Isaac," Derek said, "we are going to find him!"

"With the alpha pack roaming around, we're probably going to find him dead!"

That was three days before the new semester of school was about to start. Three days before Melissa McCall called Ryan Bender to tell her that Isaac was alive.

She was walking to school all alone, and she felt sad. Being alone like that, it felt as if nothing had changed in the past year. Erica and Boyd were god knows where, probably dead. Isaac was supposed to come to school with her on that day. They had talked about how Ryan should actually give school a chance and she was, for him. Ryan hadn't heard much from Scott and Stiles either. It seemed as if she had come off their radar as soon as she wasn't needed, and that hurt. She walked to school that day, feeling like she did last year. Feeling worthless. Until Melissa McCall called her.

"Hello," Ryan picked up after an unknown number had called her 3 times.

"Ryan," Melissa asked.

"Yea, it's me."

"You need to come to the hospital, right now."

"Why?"

"Isaac's here."

"He is? Is he okay? What happened," Ryan was sending a hundred questions per second.

"He's fine. He's healing. I don't know what happened to him. He came in with a girl. She's human."

"Okay, okay. I'll be there as soon as I can. Derek is coming too?"

"We couldn't get in touch with him. I'm about to call Scott."

"Okay, perfect," Ryan was practically crying tears of joy at this point," Thank you so much."

Ryan changed her course of direction and headed straight for the hospital.

"Ryan," Scott McCall yelled to the blonde girl just before she entered the hospital.

"Scott," Ryan couldn't help but smile," Isaac is back. He's alive."
