The hot sun beamed down on the pale sand. She pulled up into the brand new driveway. This was her new home: 91 Road to Nowhere, Strangetown, Rosweller. Its name was self explanatory. So many weird rumors, and they all had to do with aliens. Now, she could learn all about these mysteries! Who knows, maybe she could solve one or two!
Her name was Lily Fredricks. She was named for her eyes, and because her parents loved the flower. Lily was from Windenburg, Delmarva, which was quite a ways from Strangetown. The drive was at least 30 hours, and that wasn't even including traffic. Lily didn't really miss Windenburg. While there were clubs galore and many places to hang out, she just was too uninterested in the town, and everybody seemed so... mainstream. All their life stories were too predictable, and they were all just depictions of stereotypes seen in a sitcom.
Getting out of the car, she looked at the yellow house. The first thing to do now was get a job. Luckily, the paper delivery boy was walking by now. "Sul!" Lily greeted the paper boy.
"Dag dag!" the paper boy greeted in return. "You must be new. Welcome to the neighborhood!" He gave Lily a newspaper and headed off.
Lily looked at the job offerings. Each day, the newspaper would always have three new jobs available. Hopefully they would have what she wanted. While Lily had always dreamed of moving to Strangetown to explore the mysteries it held, but she also really had a passion for cooking and would have loved to go into a culinary track.
Thankfully, the track was up and available for her to choose. After some writing, Lily had officially been hired. Tomorrow, she would start her job. She went inside and set the newspaper down on a nearby end table. That's odd. she thought as she looked in her house for the first time as a resident. Last time she was here to check the place out, it wasn't fully furnished. There was no fridge, no computer, dresser, TV, or bed. Yet now there was.
In addition, her funds went down. This wasn't a Strangetown mystery at all, every Sim knew that sometimes, stuff would just randomly appear and disappear. Every time something appeared, their household funds went down. If something disappeared, the funds went up. Nobody knew why this was the case, but it just was. It was still weird, but at the same time, it was just... normal.
Passing off the event, Lily decided to go inside and make lunch. Just a sandwich would do. Opening the fridge, she took out a cutting board, some cold cuts, and bread. As soon as she set everything down, the doorbell rang. Lily couldn't think of it being anybody else except for her new neighbors. She opened the door to three people, all men in glasses.
The first one was the tallest of the three. He had long, black hair, and medium skin. His glasses were shaded green, and he had a wide, goofy smile on his face. Unlike the other two men, his shirt was rather stained and messy. "How do you do?" he grinned. "I'm Lazlo."
The man in the middle was the shortest. He had tan skin and blond hair. Like Lazlo, he also had green tinted glasses, but his were bigger, and were round, while Lazlo's were square. Even with the glasses, Lily could assume that this one had blue eyes. His outfit was much neater than Lazlo's as well: he had on a yellow button-shirt under a brown dress jacket and beige dress pants. He shot an annoyed look at Lazlo and then turned back to Lily with a soft smile. With a quiet voice, he said "It is a pleasure to meet you. I'm Vidcund." He shyly held out a small bouquet of African violets.
Lily smiled. "Thank you," she said in a more bold, louder voice, causing Vidcund to cringe. Immediately she felt embarrassed. "Sorry about that," she said. Vidcund simply nodded in forgival. She could safely assume that he was an introvert, or at least very shy.
The last man caught Lily's interest. His frame was more muscular than the other two, yet his abdomen made it seem like he was supposed to be heavier. In addition, his glasses were totally circular, and not tinted. Like Vidcund, he had tan skin and blue eyes. He simply nodded in greeting and quickly said "Pascal Curious. Welcome to the neighborhood." Pascal held out his hand.
