Ellie's Point Of View
I heard a door slam from downstairs and I shot up from my sleep.
Why am I always woken up this way?
I glance over at my alarm clock, 12:00 am. I must have fallen asleep doing homework.
I looked down and my legs were covered in school papers and textbooks. I moved the books and papers off me and went to change clothes, I never changed my clothes from yesterday.
Ew.
I went over to my dresser and grabbed a pair of skinny jeans and a t-shirt. I never really dress to impress, I mean who am I trying to impress?
I jogged to my bathroom and locked the door behind me. I hopped in the shower and instantly felt the hot water run down my skin. I poured the strawberry scented shampoo into the palm of my hand and massaged it into my scalp.
I rinsed the shampoo out and then scrubbed my body, washing the dirt off my skin and replacing it with an amazing scent.
After my lovely shower, I quickly got dressed and pulled my hair into a messy bun.
After 4 tries my messy bun was perfect.
I knew my father was downstairs, so I was trying my best to be quiet. I usually do whatever I want on Saturdays, my father doesn't really pay attention to me all day.
He goes out drinking with his co-workers and gets drunk and comes home.
Lucky for me he didn't come home mad again.
"I think ill go back to the book store." I thought aloud, opening my bedroom door and stepping out.
I tip toed down the stairs and walked to the front door. I reached out for the handle but it was instantly shut back. I saw his hand on the door over my head, I slowly turned my body to look face to face with him.
"Good afternoon, Father." I greeted him, a fake smile plastered on my face.
"Where do you think you're going, Ellie?" He asked me, backing off a little and giving me some space. His breath reeked of alcohol and cigerettes.
"The book store." I answered, worried about what he was going to say.
"Oh okay, but you need to be back by 3. You understand me?" He told, crossing his arms like he always does when he gets angry.
"Yes, sir. I will be home by 3." I replied, scared of what he what do if I didn't get home by 3.
"Okay, get outta here." I quickly opened the door and ran out.
"That was a close one," I told myself. I almost didn't think he was going to let me go, but I'm glad he did.
It was a beautiful day, birds chirping, the sunshine was bright, the weather was warm, and there was a warm breeze. I started walking to the book store, I was about half way there but I still had a while to walk. I wish the book store wasn't so far away from my house. It was at least 20 minutes away and I had to walk it. But don't get me wrong, I loved walking, it gave me peace.
"Ellie!!" I heard someone yell my name from behind me.
I turned and saw Liam running towards me, I stopped walking and let him catch up with me.
"Hey," I greeted him, smiling.
"Hi," he greeted back, I saw him secretly trying to check my face for any new bruises. He acted like he wasn't doing that, but I knew he was. But it was nice to have someone care for me.
