We would wait seven weeks before going on our quest, I wrote a letter to Connor, explaining the situation and he replied agreeing. He was eager to go, but he wanted us to come with. What’s a few weeks when you’re at least seven centuries old. During the first week, Keeley asked me to come and help with her two newborns. They had named the boy Benjamin, and the girl was called Rachel. I was so happy for the couple, but since Wouter had such an important job now, he was away from home a lot, just like he expected of Eli. The biggest difference was that Eli was still in school and he had to work on the side. Wouter and Eli did have constant contact by link when Eli was at school or at work. Soon Eli would have to quit his job, he had to concentrate on his job as a beta and by that job description he would earn money for his family. That didn’t mean I wouldn’t get a job. I didn’t like doing nothing for long while he would be gone all day, but right now I had my hands full with helping Keeley deal with the two small wonders. I was occupying both babies while Keeley was preparing their bottles. She gave one to me and I picked up little Rachel and sat down with her on the couch, giving her the bottle.

‘Did Wouter tell you about our quest?’ I asked Keeley while we were watching some brainless show on television.

‘Yes, I’m not really sure why you would want to, but I’ll support you nonetheless,’ she said, giving me a broad smile.

The weeks passed fairly quickly, Eli quit his job and I got a part-time job, helping Keeley with the children. She even let me babysit when she had to do groceries or wanted some alone time with Wouter. They gave me a small fee so whenever I needed a little money, I’d have it. Keeley knew I would have done it for free, but she had insisted. As the easter holiday arrived, Eli and myself had fully prepared ourselves for the trip. We had saved up money for places to stay or food, I had also made a backpack filled with survival equipment. Connor had told us we would have to travel to Scotland, even though he would be able to travel there in a day, he had waited for us. He had told me by letter, that he had been to a large town an hour away, he had robbed the blood bank for two packs of blood. Otherwise he wouldn’t have the strength to go on this journey. Conner had asked to do the entire journey on foot, because he stood out from the crowd. People could see his fangs and his pearl white skin. Eli and I agreed, this meant we could run through the woods on occasion. I would certainly miss my friends in the pack house, but we would get home, I was sure if it.

Easter finally arrived, Eli and I had said goodbye to all our friends. We were on our way to see Connor at the edge of our territory. We had our bags packed draped over our backs and we were running in wolf form. We met him about a mile out of our territory and he ran with us. We quickly crossed quite a lot of ground. I loved to run, going on and on, pushing yourself and feeling the wind tousle your fir, it was one of the best feelings in the world. A happy feeling would rush over me, it was a feeling of freedom. I noticed that every time Connor tried to run beside me, Eli would step in between, he was still a bit antsy about running with a vampire. At least a few hours into our run we took a break. Eli and I drank and ate a little bit and we tested our link to the pack, it wasn’t enough to reach them anymore. According to Connor, we had already reached the border to Scotland. During our break, we didn’t change back, because I didn’t want Connor to see me naked again. After a while we traveled on and before the morning set in, we checked into a hotel near the woods where we had to go, to find the woman living in these mountains, without knowing where exactly she would be. Eli and I had changed and got dressed behind the hotel, in the treeline, while Connor got us two hotel rooms.

‘I think we’ve made very good progress,’ Connor said as he came into our room.

‘We’re almost there, already. Never thought it would be this easy,’ Eli said, I could hear him hoping we’d be home by tomorrow.

I on the other hand, had a feeling it wouldn’t be as easy. We would still have to search through the entire wood and the hill it was on. It would be quite the climb, it would have been easier if we knew her scent. We went to bed straight after several large sandwiches, Connor didn’t have to eat anything yet.

‘Are you sure this was a good idea?’ Eli asked me, as we cuddled together.

I gently kissed his lips.

‘Connor helped me, I want to help him too, besides.. aren’t you dying to know why he can only feel my touch?’ I asked.

‘I guess so,’ he said, kissing my cheek. ‘Maybe we’ll be on our way home tomorrow with the answers.’

‘I know you hope so, but I’m afraid it won’t be as easy as that,’ I admitted, as he started kissing my neck.

‘Let’s not think about it, I just want to love you and sleep,’ he whispered seductively.

His hands gently roamed my back and his kisses increased.

‘I think we can do that,’ I whispered back, caressing his cheek.

Some time later, we went to sleep, tired and satisfied.

Geezz you guys, I'm so sorry for keeping you so long, but I'll be honest, I'm not sure when I'll have another chapter for you lovelies.. I'll do my best! Love you all..
