"Mrs. Lorraine, what are you doing in here by yourself?" I asked the old lady who's sitting on the toilet seat, staring at the wall.
"My mother died." She crooked, her smokers voice sad. I sighed and helped her up, walking her back to her room.
"I'm sorry for your loss." I stated.
Mrs. Lorraine suffers from Alzheimer's and constantly talks about her mother dying. It was a routine for me to say that I was sorry for her loss and to help her back into her room.
After I finished with her, I walked into the main room and started cleaning up when a familiar voice started to speak.
"I know she's dying, but you don't have to be so vague with her. I don't pay for you guys to sit here and watch her die slowly. Take fucking care of her for Gods sake."
Oh dear God.
Please don't tell me.
I slowly turned around and regretted it. Her ice blue eyes met mine and I turned around and started to sprint out the room, toward the kitchen.
"Are you fucking kidding me?!" I hissed under my breath.
It's been weeks since Ive seen that woman. I've decided to stay in the house like I used to. I go to work and I go home and sulk. It's what I'm good at.
But now she's popping up everywhere I go and it's started to get to me.
"Isn't your shift over?" One of my co workers asked. I looked at the time and grabbed my things, sprinting out the nursing home.
"Hey!" I heard her yell. I couldn't get my key fast enough into the car and by the time the door opened, she slammed it shut.
"What the hell do you want?" I asked her. Her eyes were dark and luring.
She looked different today. She was in a pair of black jeans and a long sleeved black turtle neck and black sneakers. Her makeup was light and her hair was in a ponytail.
She looked beautiful and it made me want to die.
"I can't say hi?" Rose asked. I sighed and waved curtly at her, before opening my door. She slammed it shut again and I groaned in frustration.
"Can you stop being so tense around me? Please?" She asked, her eyes soft. I let out a breath and leaned against my car.
"I'm sorry it's just..fuck..what is it?" I asked.
"It's what? Continue your statement." She smirked. I rolled my eyes.
"Goodbye."
I opened my door and slipped into my seat, but before I could close it, she grabbed it.
"How about you finish that statement over dinner? With me?" She asked, her eyes bouncing around with anxiousness.
I was taken aback.
Waaaaay back.
"You just asked me out?" I asked her.
"Uh..yeah?" She replied, sheepishly.
"I thought I- I-"
"No, you assumed." She chuckled.
There was something different about her. She looked brighter, more innocent than the dark, mysterious woman I met at the party.
"How about I pick you up tonight at eight?" She asked. I gaped at her, trying to figure out if this is really happening right now.
"Uh-I- I mean sure um here's my um-"
"Here." She smirked as she grabbed my phone and placed her number inside it. Her phone chimed, indicating she texted herself and handed me my phone.
"See you then, sweet pea." She grinned, winking.
I can't believe this.
What the actual hell?
I drove home in a daze, trying to figure out which planet was in retrograde and decided to stop today.
What parallel universe did I fall into while I was asleep?
Dont be so pessimistic. Enjoy it while it lasts.
I walked into the house to Faye searching through the fridge and kicked my shoes off, walking behind her and hugging her, tightly.
"I have a date, tonight." I grinned. Sbe gasped loudly and twisted around.
"Is it with the girl you've been moping around about? Please say yes because list-"
"Yes." I grinned. She gasped, squealing before grabbing my hand.
"We HAVE to get you prepared! Make you look like the bad bitch you are!"
"Can I Eat first?" I whined.
"No, bitch go take a shower!"
I groaned and moped up the stairs and into the bathroom. I stripped from my clothes and hopped in the shower, shaving every part of my body and using my shower gel to wash up. I washed my hair and hopped out the shower, drying my body and moisturizing with some
Cocoa butter. I repainted my toes and made sure my body was in tip top shape before walking into my bedroom. There was a short black dress laying on the bed. I slipped it on, admiring the way it fit my body in the mirror. It was tight fitted, haltered with a choker around my back. My back was exposed and my ass poked out.
I looked great.
I slipped on the black red bottoms and did my make up dark and smoky, leaving my hair curly and wild.
"How do I look?" I asked Faye as I walked downstairs to the living room.
"Jesus Christ I could eat you for dinner if I could." She gasped. I blushed, twisting around when my phone chimed.
Her contact name was a rose emoji.
Fuck.
'🥀; I'm outside.' It read. Before I could respond, I heard the low rumbling of a vehicle outside, indicating my ride was here.
"Go have fun! Text me if anything!" Faye grinned.
"I love you!" I blew her a kiss and walked outside, my eyes widening.
Jesus Christ she looked amazing.
There she leaned against a black convertible in a black button down, a black coat and a pair of black ripped jeans and Oxford shoes. Her hair was in a ponytail, her face with minimum makeup on.
God.
My heart beat sped up as I walked closer to her, her eyes roaming my body.
"You look so wonderful..wow.." She breathed as she held her hand out for me. I blushed and took it, watching as she kissed it slowly.
"Let's go." She grinned, opening the car door for me.
She sped off, the car roaring as she drove past the speed limit. I tried to get myself to relax, convincing myself that tonight was going to be perfect.
I deserve this.
We got to the restaurant, the sensual Hispanic music playing in the background as we walked inside. I watched in awe as Rose spoke to the hostess in Spanish, the aching between my legs growing.
I didn't know she was Hispanic.
God damn.
"Follow me." The hostess grinned. Rose had a hand around my waist as we walked and my body reacted in ways I never thought possible. I was ready to jump her bones right here and the night didn't even start yet.
"Is there anything you would like to drink?" She asked us as she handed us the menu.
"What would you like?" Rose asked, biting her lip. She seemed so nervous and it was the cutest thing.
I've never seen her so vulnerable and I am honored to see her this way because I have a feeling a lot of people don't see this side of her.
It warmed my heart.
Slow your roll there, buddy.
"I'll have the red wine, thank you."
"I'll have the same. Bring a bottle." Rose demanded. The hostess nodded and scurried away.
"Did I tell you how beautiful you look tonight?" She asked me. I blushed.
"Well, you don't look too bad yourself." I grinned. She smirked, looking at me through her lashes.
"I wanted to try something a little different tonight." She grinned.
"Aw for me? I'm touched." I giggled. She blushed, looking away.
"So..what made you want to be different today? I'm sure you don't ask your one night stands to dinner a lot." I chuckled.
"I don't." She stated seriously, suddenly staring deeply into my eyes. I felt intimidated by her bluntness and honesty.
"What makes me so different, then?" I breathed. There was a smile playing around her lips and she tried to hide it.
"Everything..Listen..I don't do this often so excuse me if I'm a little nervous tonight. It's been a while." She cleared her throat, fidgeting around.
"Hey, it's okay. It's been a while for me too."
"Really?" She asked, an innocence in her eyes that made me melt inside.
"Yes. Really. So I guess we both are high on nerves tonight." I grinned, touching her hand. She looked up at me, an emotion in her eyes that I couldn't determine.
"Well..let's get started then."
