It turned out as I expected. Almost a whole stack of pancakes went into my fridge for later, he'd definitely made too many.
I gave him a quick kiss on the cheek when I'd shut the fridge before going to my bedroom whilst he washed up the pan and other stuff he'd used to make the pancakes.
Today effort would be made, I didn't know who the hell I'd meet at Caine's house, I'd only been there once in one bedroom and I didn't want to make a bad impression.
Plus I wanted to make myself look pretty for him, he'd not seen me make any effort yet, hed only ever seen black haired straggly cant be bothered me. I just hoped he'd appriciate it or even notice.
I rifled through my wardrobe and found a short black dress with short lace sleeves and a pair of black combat boots, this and a leather jacket would be perfect, dressed up but not too dressed up.
I quickly got dressed and curled my hair then pulled it into two low pigtails tying pink velvet ribbon to cover the hair ties I'd used. I put on some black eyeliner and a tiny bit of light pink lip balm to match the bows then looked in the mirror...something missing.
Quickly I tore through my jewellery box and found what I was looking for, a small rose quarts heart dangling off of a short chain necklace, one id gotten for my eighteenth from my parents.
Perfect! I was ready, or as ready as I'd ever be.
I took a deep breath and jumped when there was a knock on my bedroom door "hey princess, you ready to go?" Caine asked from outside
"erm...kind of...don't laugh.." I said, suddenly I felt really nervous. I crept towards the door and slowly opened it looking up at Caine in a shy way from under my eyelashes, Caine looked me over and started to smile, he laughed a low laugh and put his hands on my waist. There went my heart again, I swear if he kept doing things like that I'd have a heart attack
"laugh at you? I don't think so my love" he said playing with one of my pigtails
"your house remember?" I said in a stupidly high unintentional voice, Caine raised his eyebrows at me and brushed a finger across my cheek, I could feel a burning blush heat my skin when he did that, he really needed to stop it. Right now.
Quickly I batted his hand away and turned heading for the front door, before I made it he grabbed me around the waist and turned me around to face him
"where are you going? you never thanked me for breakfast" he said with a cheeky smile turning his cheek towards me and tapping it suggesting that he wanted me to kiss it, I sighed and rolled my eyes
"you're such a child" I mumbled leaning forwards towards his cheek, he turned at the last minute and stole a kiss, a real kiss, and after a second realising what happened I pulled away from him and slapped him.
Damn hard.
So hard in fact my hand felt like it shattered, I frowned when he just briefly raised his eyebrows "hmm, I think you just slapped me Helena" he said looking directly at me
"you know for a fact that it won't stop me" he said an arrogant and amused smile spreading across his face, he just pulled me closer, against him closer and kissed me again, and I couldn't help it but for a minute I kissed him back.
That's vampires for you. They always get what they want. Just because they know its damn hard for humans to refuse them.
Especially my vampire. Why was it that I got the arrogant, selfish, charming, stunningly hot vampire that was even worse to refuse than the rest? why, seriously why?
