Bernard sat in silence for the rest of the journey while Molly and Terrance chatted about random nonsence such as gaming and computers. Atleast, it was nonsence to Bernard. He was begining to get nervous again, his tail had been in between his legs the whole day but now he was starting to agknowledge it again.
"It looks so different outside of Nightthrone," Terrance said out of the blue.
Molly shrugged,"I can't tell."
Bernard could. Nightthrone was vandalized, gloomy and threatening to families and basically everyone else. But to Bernard, this was threatening. He was scared, and couldn't concentrate on anything else but the view outside of his window.
Mrs Hanoty came out from the other cart to inform the children that they had almost reached their destination. Bernard wasn't looking forward to this trip, not at all.
Molly was first to get up from her seat. She grabbed her bag from the floor and headed to wait at the exit, both Bernard and Terrance could see the long lump leading down her left leg under her trousers.
They left the train station after Mrs Hanoty had checked if everyone was there once again. Everyone was mezemarised at how busy the streets were over there. There were shops and stalls everywhere, it was so noisy and bright.
Bernard might have taken the new scenery better, if it wasn't for the passers by on the street staring at him all of the time.
"Now the university isn't that far from here, so we'll be able to walk. Just make sure that everyone stays together and no misbehaving," Mrs Hanoty said.
As the teacher spoke, Molly re-did her ponytail tighter, and made sure her ears were still covered. She's lucky. Bernard thought. He could never hide his long drooping ears. Even if he could, he would never be able to hide them as descitely as Molly. Infact, now that Bernard thought about it, no-one would be able to tell that Molly was a half - breed if it weren't for her pale yellow, furry skin, and mouse-like nose.
Terrance was the real lucky one in Bernard's eyes. He was human, and resonably attractive. Terrance used to be the boy all the girls wanted when the two were younger. Terrance was the popular boy of his age, he also used to be one of the many that picked on Bernard. He was boastfull, confident and handsom. Although, during the summer before high school, Terrance started to the front of his hair long, died it from blonde to jet black and put it to the side of is face, then he would dress darker and from then on be called and 'emo', even though his personality was the opposite of depressive. Infact, apart from the bastard part of him that would hate Bernard, his personality didn't change at all. People just saw him differently, they saw him as a loser, just like Bernard.
"Look mommy! A snow-man!" a child pointed at Bernard, refering to his pure white fur.
The mother pulled her son away harshly. Terrance tutted "Kids these days." he said. "I mean come on, you and a snowman look nothing alike!"
Bernard stared at his friend. Not knowing whether to take that as an insult or compliment, or neither.
"Is that the university there Miss?!" Loron - a teachers pet with the ginger hair and glasses - called to his teacher.
Mrs Hanoty nodded happily. "Yes, Loron. This is Rondark University, one of the biggest and most popular universities in the country!" she spoke with enthusiasm and cheeryness. For some reason it reminded Terrance of Molly's opposite.
"What will we be doing inside it, Miss?" Loron questioned further.
No-one but Loron listened to the answer. Partly because no-one cared, they were to busy doing there usual carry on. Bernard, Terrance and Molly were walking at the back of the class. Terrance and Molly continued there subject from on the train. Something about an RPG thing.
