Matt finds himself in a ship’s cabin, surrounded by wine, gunpowder, and remnants of the psychedelic drug known as Hupler-1. Imagine a mixture of marijuana and LSD, only more foul. The only noticeable sound is distant footfalls and water dripping. Matt sits up and attempts to summon his keyblade, but some unknown force keeps him from doing so. He creeps toward the door and is ultimately hit in the face with it as a cat-eared lady bursts into the room.

“AH!” she shouts. Matt gets knocked to the ground by the force of the door. “Are you okay?” he doesn’t respond. He’s out cold. The cat-eared girl runs and finds her captain, bringing her down into the cabin to examine the scene. Matt awakens a few hours later.

“That’s who we risked our freedom for?” the captain asks. She’s tall and human like, and is dressed like a pirate. She wears a black coat, a feather in her hair, and a white blouse. She has heeled boots that click loudly with every knock against the wood.  “He’s a real step down from the last guy we had here.” The cat-like female shrugs.

“Don’t judge a book by it’s cover!” she shouts, making the captain boredly roll her eyes. The cat lady steps toward Matt cautiously and waves. “Hi. I’m Jackie and that’s Maddi.”

“I’ve got no time for games. Let’s go.” Maddi says. She motions for Jackie to move aside, and for Matt to get up and follow her. The latter refuses.

“You’d better listen to her. You wouldn’t like it when she’s angry.” Jackie whispers. Maddi, however, hears and whips around.

“You wouldn’t like me when I’m calm. One wrong move and I’ll gut you and throw you in the sea.” she threatens. Her voice is sharp and cold as she draws one of the scimitars attached to her belt. She kicks open the door and walks upstairs to the deck. When she leaves Jackie turns to Matt and sighs.

“I’m sure you have a lot of questions. Don’t ask them and you won’t get hurt,” she explains. However, she pauses to choose her words. “At least, not that much.”  Matt nods gingerly and follows after the catgirl in front of him. She wears a traditional Japanese Seifuku, or school uniform. Blue skirt, white blouse, and a red ribbon around her collar. There’s a short katana-like blade on her back and a few Shuriken along her belt. When Matt heads upstairs he realises he’s on a large Galleon docked near the store. Jackie leads him to the edge of the boat where Maddi joins up and sighs. She looks him up and down disinterestedly.

“Hmm. You’re scrawny. You’ve got no weapon or armor and you’re dressed rather flashy,” she says. “You appear to be...plain. Common. If that’s true...why do we know your name?”

“I don’t know. You kidnapped me in the middle of the night--you answer the question.” Matt responds.

“Don’t crack wise. You won’t like what happens, kid.”

“Really? Prove it!” Matt challenges. Jackie waves to him and gives him a warning glance.

“Don’t even think about it.” she mouths. However, Matt’s dumb enough to challenge her. What’s done is done. Maddi draws two shining scimitars as long as an average man’s arm, and levels one at Matt’s chest.

“Go ahead. Take your best shot.” Maddi says, adding a smirk to make herself seem bold. Matt follows her advice and summons his weapon, advancing on her. He lunges forward in an attempt to run her through but she twirls deftly out of the way, making Matt stumble ahead and faceplant on the deck. Maddi laughs mockingly and turns him over with a heel that she places on his chest. Jackie worriedly paces over and furrows her brow.

“I believe you’ve had a rude greeting.” she says, aiming a cold glance to her comrade.

“Yes,” Maddi agrees. “Welcome to the Last Ship. Tonight we’re throwing a party and you’re not invited. Well, not officially.” she removes her heel and walks off into her cabin. Jackie helps Matt up and sighs.

“Sorry...I have to do this.” she says. Before Matt can respond she hits him on the head hard enough to knock him out.
