Sara and Cora joined Scott in the observation room, Sara noticed their mother lying on a table in the next room behind the glass, her throat locked. "Is she okay?" The brunette asked trying not to grasp her neck... "Well, we managed to get her out of cryo," Scott started, barley acknowledging Cora, "SAM says she is stable and her disease hasn't taken affect yet, if we're to try anything; it's now."

"What's the plan, SAM?" Sara asked putting a hand on the glass, she was taken back when she realized how long it had actually been since she saw her mother... SAM spoke after a brief moment, "Meridian has has advanced medical research drastically since it's activation, not everything is in place. We have no cure, but given our current data; I believe I may be able to treat her."

"Wait-- How will YOU treat her?" Sara asked, she shut her eyes, thinking her words were ruder than she meant.

"Before dad... Froze her," Scott started, "he implanted her with a SAM implant, we believe SAM can use it to treat her like how he saved my life back on the golden world, and how we were able to talk when you were in a coma..."

Sara looked down for a moment, "Scott, I... I'd feel a lot better about this if we actually had a cure... This all sounds highly theoretical."

SAM spoke, "It is. But I have an understanding of what Ellen means to you both. I promise, I will not allow her to die." Sara sighed trying to wrap her head around it all, she narrowed her focus to the decision at hand, "then let's give it a shot." Cora wanted to walk up and hold her girlfriend, but the whole situation just felt wrong. "Beginning," SAM said definitively, the room began to hum and lighten, the twins held their breath. "Something is wrong," SAM said.

"What? SAM what's happening?" Scott asked terrified for his mother, the machines around began to flash and beep, "Her vitals!" Sara shouted spying one of the machines. "SAM!" Scott yelled. Suddenly the room filled with bright blue cross-hatching stars almost freezing the room itself in time. "SAM, what happened?" Sara asked, barley able to breath, another moment passed before the AI replied, "Ellen's vitals responded badly to the action after cryo-sleep, I initiated a stasis field to stall the reaction... I will do what I can while the stasis is active, however it seems nothing short of a cure will save your mothers life."

Sara clenched her fists, "This is worse than watching her in cryo-sleep," she thought fighting back tears, Scott pressed a hand against the glass, "then we better get to work, we'll put the Tempest to work, I'm the Pathfinder. So let's find a path to a cure." Sara wanted to smack him she was so angry, so emotionally distraught, worse of all; she knew he was right. Scott left the room, Cora walked up to Sara, "... How can I...?" Before she could finish Sara buried her face into Cora's shoulder, holding her tight. "I don't know..." the brunette whispered, still fighting tears. The blonde held her tightly, not knowing what else to do.
