Hold (Part 2)

It had been a month since the incident with the Ryders mother, ever since then the Tempest crew had been looking for a definite cure, and morale was getting low... Scott's blind ambition was not inspiring, most of the team didn't even know what they were doing anymore. Sara in particular was feeling the tension, she had had some sleepless nights and had hardly spent a second of time off... Let alone with Cora. 

Crossing through the hangar, barely awake, Sara bumped into Cora, the blonde biotic didn't look happy, "Sara, can we talk?" she gestured toward the open Nomad rover. "I guess..." She replied in a gravely tone. The couple entered the Nomad closing the hatch behind them, Sara stood at the end of the room, both women had their arms crossed, "Sara--sit down..." Cora said gently, "I'm fine, Cora I--"

"You're NOT fine," the blonde interrupted stepping closer, "look at you; you are exhausted."

Tears started to form in Sara's eyes as she struggled to speak, "It's just so hard..." She started, beginning to cry, "I don't know what to do..." She sat down resting her face in her hands, "I don't want to lose anyone, and I feel like I'm losing everyone all at once!" Cora sat down next to her sobbing girlfriend putting a hand on her back, "Scott's not Scott anymore, the team is shutting down, my mother is frozen in time," she paused inhaling sharply, "and now I'm losing you..."

Cora threw her arms around Sara, "You will not lose me, Ryder, I'm just worried about you... Even the Council needed a break..." Sara snuggled up in Coras arms, "I don't know what to do, Cora, I can't keep going like this... I don't think any of us can..."

"maybe there's a way to get her back into cryo, then we can all take a breath, and by we, I mean you and Scott.." Cora said resting her cheek on Sara's head, "We would have to have SAM disable the field so we could get inside and..." Sara stopped, shutting her eyes tight, "I don't... I don't want to think about all this right now..." The two held each other  tightly, "OK, Sara."

The couple stayed that way for a few minutes before Cora re positioned herself and asked, "you doing any better?" Sara put a hand on Cora's neck, "just..." She bit her lip and looked away as she began to retreat, Cora caught her hand and put another on Sara's face, "I haven't... Been with you in so long, I don't think either of us are... Thinking very... Clearly..." They kissed long and passionately, the two needed each other for nearly every reason in the book. Sara straddled Cora lifting her shirt, exposing Cora's black bra.  The blonde grabbed Sara's wrists, "Babe, wait... This isn't the time or place." The two froze- starring at each other, Sara placed her hands on her face in embarrassment, "ugh, you're right... I know you're right, I just..." Cora pulled down her top and held the pony-tailed  girl close to her, "it's okay, sweetie. I... I wouldn't mind  being intimate, but I think we need to get you some sleep first." Sara rolled off her girlfriend still pressing her hands to her face... "What am I supposed to tell Scott?" She asked practically curling up into a ball, "you let ME handle your brother, you go to bed; I'll be there when you wake up, okay?"

"Don't hold your breath..." Sara whimpered as Cora snickered in response giving her girlfriends forehead a kiss, "get to bed, Ryder." The blonde ordered as she began to exit the Nomad. Sara was asleep in less than a minute.

The brunette woke up uncertain of how much time had passed, she exited the Nomad stretching almost bumping into Vetra on the way out... "Uhh, do I wanna know what you were doing in there?" The turian asked, "I was just napping," Sara replied rubbing the back of her neck. "Sara Ryder taking a nap in the Nomad? Liam's never gunna let you live this down..."

"The guy brought a couch with him across dark-space... I don't think he has the right to judge me..."

Vetra took a look to her side, "How long were you in there?"

"I don't know... A couple hours?"

"You might want to talk to Cora..."

Sara winced, "What happened?"

"She and Scott... Got into it."

"Wha?"

"They had a fight."
