it was meant to be totally innocent.

hell, it still was innocent.

a friendly conversation took place in between rafael devers and (y/n), subject matter ranging from how he was enjoying boston so far to what each other's favorite things were. simple icebreaker stuff just so (y/n) could get to know the boy and gain a new friend.

they currently spoke on each other's favorite films, which were coincidentally the same thing. (y/n) laughed lightly at this, running her hand through her hair to brush it out of her face.

somewhere off in the distance, an absolutely livid andrew benintendi marched angrily past his teammates at seeing (y/n) get so friendly with devers.

benny tried to convince himself that he was just being protective of his best friend, but he knew he couldn't lie to himself. andrew loved (y/n) with all his heart, he was just so scared of how she'd react to that information. the two of them had been best friends since the third grade and nothing has pulled them apart. they've done everything together, like study sleepovers during high school and going on little "dates". so, when he saw rafael somehow making (y/n) laugh, he couldn't help but let his emotions get the best of him.

"dude, chill out." brock said as soon as benny passed him. andrew simply ignored this and walked faster towards the locker room. with this, brock rolled his eyes and walked over to (y/n) and rafael.

"hey, brock!" (y/n) greeted, waving at the blonde. brock offered a simple smile before stopping in front of the two.

"hi, (y/n)," he waved back politely. "i don't know if you saw, but benny is real mad and i think it's best if you talk this one out with him."

she cocked an eyebrow but agreed to brock's odd request nonetheless. "sure thing. where is he?"

brock shrugged his shoulders. "no clue. good luck, though."

(y/n) waved goodbye to rafael and set out on her journey to locate the supposedly angered andrew benintendi. she was concerned to say the least, in her mind andrew didn't really have a reason to be angry.

her search came to a halt as she came across andrew pacing in the locker room with his head hanging low, the occasional grumble as he talked to himself.

"benny?" (y/n)'s voice was soft and concerned. she didn't like seeing andrew like this. not at all.

his head shot up quickly, turning to make eye contact with (y/n). when she finally got a good glimpse of his face, she saw two things: the anger in his eyes and the rage-induced tears falling down his face.

in that moment, both (y/n) and andrew broke.

"oh, drew.." she said, walking towards him and using both her thumbs to wipe away his tears. "what's wrong?"

he said nothing. he just looked down at (y/n) with the same look as before.

(y/n) sighed. "benny, you have to talk to me, please."

his face fell to somewhat of a scowl. "why don't you go talk to rafael?" he said, turning away from her.

"oh my god, andrew, is that seriously what this is about?" she asked, no response. so many things went through her head in that moment but she refined it down to one single thought.

"are you... are you jealous?" she asked again, no response.

"andrew sebastian, just talk to me, god dammit! why are you acting like such a child?" she shouted at him, her arms crossing her chest. "you know what? i don't have time for this." (y/n) sighed almost angrily, turning her back to leave. "i came here to help you and at least try to talk you out of your mood, but someone isn't fucking talking to me, so i guess i'll just go."
