"Quick, sweetie! We have to hide in the bathroom!", whispered my mom as loud crashes were heard from downstairs.
We rushed to my parents' room, locking the door behind us before getting into the bathroom and repeating the same thing.
"Who is this man, Mommy?", I asked, my voice laced with both fear and the innocence of a nine year old kid.
"He is an evil man sweetie...", she said, as a flash of sadness darkened her usually soft blue iris which I had inherited from her. "But don't worry, Daddy and help are on their way. Everything is going to be fine, my heart."
The second those last two words left her lips, silence took over the whole house, as if they had triggered something in the guy who was robbing our house. A couple of minutes passed, and it sounded like the guy had left. Until we heard a loud BANG! My mom instinctively wrapped her hands around me, protecting me from the flying debris of what used to be the bathroom's door.
Smoke was hiding the entrance to the bathroom, but I could still make out the imposing and scary silhouette of the man who had been trashing our house, looking for us.
"So she is your heart?", he said in the deepest and most terrifying voice I've ever heard. It was filled with hatred, disgust, and a non measurable amount of anger, ready to explode at any moment. "Zoey? Zoey Frazier?"
"Miss Frazier?"
"ZOEY FRAZIER!"
I jumped in my chair. What the hell just happened and where am I?!
"Miss Frazier, did you just fall asleep during first period on the very first day of school?"
.....Riiight. School. Biology. Yi-freaking-hoo.
"Erm... Maybe a little bit?"
The teacher sighed while my classmates started gossiping about how lame I was or how funny I looked when I woke up all startled. Man, I hate high school.
"Anyways, as I was saying," continued the professor, shooting me a glare," We have a new student joining us today!"
I yawned. Cool. Can we move on now so I can go back to sleep?
"Mr Wallance, please come on in."
A tall dark haired guy walked in, making some girls giggle and some guys sigh. He had a muscular lightly tanned body, deep green eyes, a defined jawline and broad football worthy shoulders.
"Why don't you tel us a bit more about yourself, Mr Wallance?" said the bio teacher, giving him the oogly eyes. That thirsty little grandma.
"Sure thing, Professor..?"
"Professor Williams. But you can call me Betty," she replied, winking at him. The cringe is real.
" A pleasure to meet you, Professor Williams." HA! I like him. Ish.
"So,"he started, as I was starting to drift back to sleep," The name's Aiden Wallance and I'm 18 years old like most of you." He spoke with ease and confidence, stealing everyone's attention and making them weigh every word he said like it was sacred. That guy's turning into Mr popular sooner than I am going to fall asleep.
He continued,"I'm a guitarist and football player (Told ya!) which is the main reason why I moved here with my fam-"
Aaand here we go with the blabla showoff. Urgh. Does he really have to tell us the reason of his existence?
I froze. Why is everyone looking at me? Hold on... Did I just say that out loud?!
"Well, shit. Liberty of expression, don't judge me too much", I said, shrugging. I honestly couldn't care less.
