They have a week until it's all over.
Seven days.
Yoongi throws a glass at the wall-- Hoseok avoids it and runs to embrace the fuming love of his life, only to be pushed back roughly and told to 'get the fuck out'.
Hoseok walks out, fear biting in his heart and tears threatening to fall.
Six days.
Hoseok comes back home. Yoongi and Hoseok make up, apologies and kisses exchanged, heartfelt 'I love you's spoken and meant. Hoseok kisses the tip of Yoongi's nose, just like he always did, and Yoongi cries into his shoulder. Time is all they have.
Five days.
That day was spent sitting on their bed, legs tangled together, Yoongi's head nuzzled into Hoseok's neck, Hoseok's hand massaging Yoongi's scalp, and their free hands intertwined. They talk about nothing, and everything. Reminiscing of the good times they had with the guys, when they were young and free and pillars in the Korean pop industry. Talking about the hardships of life they went through and overcame as friends, eventually boyfriends, and further down the line, husbands. The days they spent sneaking kisses in the dance studio, or when they would steal glances of the other in interviews and shows. The rumours of Yoongi and Jimin dating (really, Jimin, of all people? Could no one see he was head over heels for his fellow '95 liner?) and the shock that spread like wildfire when they announced their relationship to the world.
Yoongi and Hoseok laugh together. Later on, as they fall asleep, Yoongi clutches the sheets harder, twisting the golden band around his ring finger that signified their unity. He decides it's about time he got used to not wearing it, but as he took it off, his hand felt too light, too empty, too cold. He slips it back on, turning to Hoseok's back and spooning the younger, who's pliant to him, only letting out a hum before going back to sleep. Yoongi decides he won't take the ring off, not while Hoseok is still here.
Four days.
Yoongi cooks breakfast for the both of them. The smell of eggs fills the apartment, and as he's flipping an egg, warm arms wrap around his waist, a nose nuzzling into his neck and lips leaving kisses. A mumbled good morning that could only come from Jung Hoseok. His Hoseok.
The day continues on normally; Yoongi and Hoseok being together, the elder playing the piano while Hoseok dances (they've gotten a little rusty), watching a movie series together, taking a bubble bath together, cuddling on the couch. Yoongi listens to Hoseok's heart beating, smiling until he remembers what's coming. Yoongi memorizes the sound of his Hoseok's heart-- he needs to.
Three days.
Yoongi and Hoseok go out that day. They meet up with everyone again; Seokjin, Namjoon, Jimin, Taehyung, and Jeongguk. There weren't any Jins or Rap Monsters or V or Jungkook anymore, just themselves. Yoongi's glad that, even after they disbanded, they still treat each other as they did when they all lived together. A small part of Yoongi misses that life, but a bigger part of him enjoys the life he has with Hoseok more than anything.
They meet with the guys, and it begins.
"Hyung, you're looking pretty skinny nowadays," Jimin says, concern etched on his face, "you know we aren't idols anymore? We can eat all we want now."
"It's fine, I've just been busy dancing so much, it's hard running your own dance studio when you have more than 30 students." Hoseok explains, smiling his usual smile. Liar, you haven't been to the studio in a week. Yoongi nods, and hides his arm under his sweater once more. No one needs to see it.
Two days.
Yoongi spends this day treating Hoseok. Kisses, food, love, tears, intimacy, a blowjob; he gives it all to Hoseok. The latter boy tries to give back, but Yoongi won't let him. It's all about him today.
One day.
Hoseok cries today. Not because he's afraid for himself, but afraid for Yoongi. Will his hyung be fine? Will he be okay? Even after what'll happen, will he still hold his ground? He doesn't know the answer, but from the look in Yoongi's eyes, Hoseok knows this will break him. But it needs to happen.
It just has to.
10 hours.
Yoongi's on edge. What if it happens sooner than what his clock says? He knows this is the last day (he cried to himself for hours upon hours the night before), what if fate decides they want to do it at this time? So, Yoongi keeps him close, protecting Hoseok from everything. It won't work, though-- he knows it'll happen anyways. And he spends the rest of their so little time together.
1 hour.
Hoseok kisses Yoongi goodbye. Kisses his tear-stained cheeks, his tired eyelids, his reddened nose, and lastly, his soft and quivering lips. Hoseok tries to memorize the taste of him; like cold, rainy nights, warm blankets, and soft pillows-- his comforts. Hoseok can't describe how Yoongi tastes, but he remembers it.
Yoongi tries to convince Hoseok to stay, please, we have an hour left. Hoseok says no, says he can't stay, that he needs to go to make it less painful for Yoongi. They say their final 'I love you's, kiss one more time, cry into each other's shoulders, and Hoseok leaves.
●
Yoongi watches his arm. The numbers keep ticking.
They stop at 00:00:00:23:12.
And that was the end of Jung Hoseok, and the end of Jung Yoongi.
