After a no-so-long drive from the office to the scene gave enough time to Wilson to do a summary in his head of what happened. Suicide... The river.. Weight.. He needed to find out who the man was, and what exactly made him commit suicide. What possible clues could the scene give him?
He got out of the car with his friend Humphrey. He took a moment to appreciate the beauty of this exquisite view, the river running down the land and the bridge that was nicely complimenting the wold landscape with the old yet romantic design of it. They walked towards the medics that were there to examine the victim. The lead examiner came to talk with the two detectives, trying to describe the situation from his own view.
-"Well, good evening gentlemen."
Wilson and Humphrey replied politely, waiting what the medic had to say.
-"This is an interesting case to say the least. The gentleman right there is Sir Bobby Charlestone, a lord of the livestock market with a huge fortune abroad. Really unfortunate."
Humphrey proceeded with the typical questions
-"Is this really a suicide?"
-"I t definitelly seems like one. The cause of death is drowning, and there are no signs of fighting before dropping to the water. I would be able to say more after a thorough examination in the labs. For now that's all I've got."
The detectives quickly gave him permission to take the body to the labs, while they took a moment to go through what was in front of them, the scene where the body was found.
-"How do we know that he jumped from that bridge?" Wilson asked Humphrey.
-"We have an eye-witness. She was further interrogated but nothing else specific came out of that. The name is Eliza Winston."
-"We should go to see her immediatelly."
-"I already told you Dorian, there nothing more we could learn from her. She just happened to be there when this Bobby bloke decided to end his life."
-"It's not for that. If my suspicions have even the slightest of bases, she could be in danger."
-"Where do you base your suspicions may I ask?"
-"We're gonna waste to much time if I start now. Get on the car and we'll talk after that."
-"You better have logic behind this and not just a hunch."
-"We both know I never have a hunch."
And so they left.
