I use to be whole, filled to the brim with life.
And then she took it from me, "like taking candy from a baby."
It took me a while to understand this, but she regarded me as a flower; graceful and joyous—until tragedy strikes, then slowly, she picked my petals of life one by one until I'm nothing but a stem.
Despite the thorns of hardships, I am
fragile—delicate, even.I never wanted this, any of it in fact.
I'm her daughter; she's supposed to care for me, respect me, love me.
It would be better if I'd just leave and start a new—where there was no mother that would cause me pain, where I could live happy and carefree, where I could learn to love once again.
