"We really can't do it? The tour is cancelled?" Jimin was fuming. Namjoon had just walked in and announced the unfortunate news. He had not even taken his shoes off before Jimin started on him, complaining about the manager and how unreasonable it was to punish them like this.
Now that the meeting was over and Namjoon had returned home, everyone was gathered in his and Hoseok's room, with the exception of Jungkook and Yoongi, who were thought to be at the hospital together.
"He said we'll have to wait for Jungkook to heal, and even after that, we should probably get started on some new material." The leader sat down next to Hoseok, who cautiously made room as he scooted closer to the exasperated Jimin. "By the time Jungkook can walk normally again, it will be far too late for a tour. Might as well start on another album now."
"He can't do this to us. We haven't performed on a big stage in months, and now we'll have to wait even longer. The fans will have to wait longer."
"It's for the best, Jimin. Jungkook needs to rest, and we shouldn't be running around the country to perform while he's stuck in bed. Besides, we'd be down two members. Yoongi can't perform without intense practice beforehand, just to make sure that whole fainting issue doesn't spring up again, and I don't think any of us could convince him to work that hard. Not now," Jin explained, pouring himself a cup of tea at the edge of the kitchen counter.
Jimin seemed swayed slightly, but he refused to let the issue smooth over. "It's just unfair," he whined. "Jungkook just healed, but he won't see another stage for two whole months, maybe more."
"He tripped, yes, and he broke his ankle. But there's nothing we can do about it." Namjoon stood so he could see the opponent of his argument, seated on the other end of the couch. The leader then strode toward his coat, where he'd left his phone after walking in.
Taehyung looked up from his sketchbook finally, which had an effortful rendition of Van Gogh's Starry Night drawn on the front page, and piped up, "Maybe we can add this whole thing into our next album. The new concept is about protecting our Jungkook. We'll make sure the stylists incorporate bubble wrap into every part of our wardrobe. You two could even write a cypher about his bad luck."
"Bad luck, right," mumbled Jimin.
Namjoon, who had made his way to a different armchair, quite conscious of his decision to avoid Jimin, had his phone out for the first time in hours. He grimaced at the sheer number of messages piled on his lock screen.
"Looks like Jungkook must be bored. I have loads of messages from him. And -- Oh! The manager just sent me something."
"What is it?" Hoseok pressed, leaping up from his spot beside Jimin to peer over the leader's shoulder.
"Give me a moment to check," he groaned. But his subtle frustration transformed into utmost worry as he began to read the messages aloud.
"'Have any of you seen Yoongi?'"
"'Did he come back home?'"
"'The driver just told me he went into the hospital a few hours ago, and he hasn't seen him since.'"
"'And he left his phone in the cab, so we can't reach him,'" Namjoon finished.
Hoseok stuttered over his shoulder, "But he went up to see Jungkook. Don't you think they're just having a long visit?"
And Namjoon was nearly convinced for a second that his concern was for naught. But as he read his other messages, the texts from their youngest, the situation became dire.
"Jungkook texted me over fifty times since I left for the meeting. It looks like he just kept asking if Yoongi was going to show up."
"Yes, yes, but maybe Yoongi was just late. You know how he likes to take his time," Hoseok tried to explain away the troubles but frowned as he read the rest over Namjoon's shoulder.
"'He hasn't come yet.'"
"'Was traffic bad for you?'"
"'Maybe he's just caught in traffic.'"
"'Oh, sorry, I must have sent a hundred messages about this.'"
"'I have to leave for surgery now.'"
"'See you tomorrow.'"
Yoongi never went up, Namjoon concluded.
Yoongi's missing.
