You ran through the school doors, with messy hair--a genuine smile as you spotted Morty standing by the gate.

Unlike the other kids, he was the only one who was never on his phone.

"Morty!" You waved frantically at him, catching his attention instantly.
"O-Oh hey (Y/N)-" he was cut off as you jumped onto his back, startling him. A wide blush flushed across his pale cheeks, this is the closest contact he's ever had with a girl.

Wanting to seem strong, he kept you up on his shoulders despite the feeling of his knees about the buckle under at any moment.

"Y-you want me t-to carry you there?" He questioned--only to earn excited nods from you. He smiled, before continuing to carry you to his house--not far from your own.

By the time he reached the driveway your eyes were fluttered closed, arms swaying by Morty's neck. The garage door was wide open, exposing Rick's "lab" to the open.

Morty's eyes met Rick's, to which then met your sleeping form on his shoulders.

"Geez Morty I knew you-Uurp-wanted some but I didn't expect you to roofie them" Rick blurted, continuing to work on his latest invention. Morty was shocked for a brief moment.

"I-I-I didn't drug them Rick! Gee-I'm not that type of guy! She's a friend..."

"Isn't that the neighbour-uRp-Morty?" Rick questioned, fiddling with a screw driver.

"W-What?!" Morty exclaimed, waking your sleeping form. You slurred your words, eyes opening wide when you spotted the UFO like cat sitting in the driveway.

"The space car! I knew it was real!" You slipped off of Morty's back, walking up to it--in awe.

"So your the little shit that keeps stealing my pens" Rick half assed sounded annoyed, and impressed.
"I needed them for tower, more important that science!"

"Yeah-yeah whatever" Rick brushed it off, pressing a couple of buttons on his device.

You seemed interested with everything in the garage--moving onto something else when you didn't understand how to use it. That is, until you spotted a helmet under the workbench. Fascinated, you pulled it out from under the bits of metal.

A bike helmet! seeming simple enough, you put it onto your head only to hear a voice. It sounded like Morty's.

"Did you say something Morty?"

"W-wha-No" he responded, clearly confused. "What is she hearing" There it is again, startling you.

Morty's thoughts! Rick must have tampered with it.

"Aw geez, I cant believe we're neighbors"

"I-I cant believe we're neighbors, huh?" Morty actually said, scratching the back of his neck nervously.

"Yeah, I know right!" you replied, a plan forming in your head.

Time to test him.

"What do you think of me?" You asked, a coil smile forming with your lips.

"You're so, so pretty why are you even talking to someone like me? I-I hope we will become great friends one day"

"I-I think you're a pretty great person, and, I hope we see each other more o-often" He sweat dropped slightly, still startled by the sudden question.

Awe...what a dork. He's a good guy, you trusted him instantly after hearing his thoughts.

Taking off the helmet, you smiled at him. "That's good"

"W-W-What do you think of me?" Morty timidly asked, instantly regretting so.

"I think your a total cutie! And that I'm glad you're a heavy sleeper" A deep blush casted across Morty's cheeks. "Wait-Wha-" You swung an arm around him, laughing as you did so. "I'm just kidding! Sorta"

"H-Hey Kid, where'd you get the-uRp-helmet from?" Rick asked, slightly worried.

"Under the bench" You tossed it at him, dragging Morty into his own house. "Can you show me around?" You asked. Morty responded with a nod--the same wide grin squishing his cheeks.

As the door closed, Rick took the helmet into his hands. "Geez, I should put this stuff in a better place" Rick mumbled to himself, tossing it back into the box filled with Beth's childhood 'toys'.
