-----Out of the Shadows-----
Red
"So are you going to come out or what?" I asked Gabriel.
We were at a men's clothing store. Gabriel wanted to watch my every move, which seemed a little overprotective, but we made a deal that he could only do that where I can see him. I insisted that he should enroll in my school so that he wouldn't have to act like a stalker. He walked out of the dressing room, wearing black pants and shoes, a black T-shirt and a black leather jacket over it.
"What do you think?", he asked.
"Wow. You look hot." I admittedly said.
He smiled at me and it made my face slid up. We grabbed a lot of other clothes and went to my house. Gabriel and I went into the kitchen where Cecelia stood, drinking a glass of whiskey. She immediately put the bottle in the top cabinet and the glass in the fridge once she saw us.
"Red. You're home. Who's your friend?" She asked.
"Goddammit mom! I told you not to drink that stuff!" I said and took out the bottle and threw it in the trashcan next to the fridge.
I took out the glass of wine and poured it down the sink.
"This is Gabriel, he's a friend of mine. I was hoping if he could stay with us. He's an orphan and his foster parents abused him a lot."
"I don't know. We can't take him in without signing any adoption papers." She said.
"PLEASE. It's not like they'll miss him anyway. Besides, he needs a better home and school."
"Fine. He can stay. I'll have to enroll him into your school."
"Thanks."
WE WERE AT SCHOOL.
"I don't know about this Red. I'm feeling kind of...nervous." Gabriel said.
"Nervous? There's nothing to be nervous about. Trust me." I answered.
Class was the same as always. A simple introduction was made to welcome a new student. Obviously Gabriel had to be in my class. He would never get by without me. The teacher pointed toward a seat right next to me. Time flew by very quickly and the next thing I knew it was lunch time. The lunch lady served us mashed potatoes and turkey burgers. Gabriel and I sat next to each other at an empty table.
"Hey!"
I turned around to see where the squeaky voice was coming from and noticed Rebecca walking towards us. She looked tanned, it made her green eyes and honey-like blonde hair stand out. She was wearing pink lip gloss and a tight pink dress. I didn't bother looking at her feet, they would probably look like tentacles anyway.
"Gabriel right?" She said.
"Yeah." He answered.
My face started heating up and I could feel my jealousy begging me to be in control. I wanted to punch Rebecca so bad. My eyes beamed at her telling her that he's mine, even if he wasn't. She didn't pay attention to it.
"The girls and I-" she pointed towards the rest of the cheerleaders sitting at a table.
"- were wondering if you'd like to hang out with us and not some dorky little girl."
Oh now I really wanted to do something. Gabriel narrowed his eyes at me, warning me not to say or do anything.
"No thank you Rebecca. I'd rather spend some time with this dorky little girl. Besides, she's the cutest dorky little girl I've ever met. Now take a hike." He grinned.
