It was a cold night. Fall was right around the corner. Many of the leaves in the trees surrounding Konoha have already turned brown, some even starting to fall. But what Sarada loved in these cold nights were the stars that shined brightly in the beautiful night sky.

The Tenth Hokage sighed as she watched the black starry sky, remembering the last time she watched them with her husband.

"When will you come back?" A worried and pregnant kunoichi asked her husband, who had agreed to watch the stars with her the night before he left.

Boruto looked at his wife and gently kissed her forehead, "I'll be sure to be back as soon as I finish the mission. After all, I need to do my part as your right hand man and husband."

Sarada flashed a small smile before frowning again. She looked up at the stars, finding comfort in them.

"Sarato might not see you for long time. Heck, his situation might be even worse than mine!" She told the blonde, concerned.

"I was also commissioned by Konohamaru-sensei to be one of the candidates for the Tenth Hokage. If you're gone, and I'll be busy, god knows what would happen!" Sarada couldn't help but be brought to tears with what she said. She didn't want their son to experience the things both she and Boruto did when they were teens.

Boruto softly stared at his wife, pained to see her in tears. He wrapped his arms around his lover and whispered in her ear.

"That won't happen, as long as we love him very much."

Early morning the following day, Boruto departed for his journey.

"I wonder when you'll be back... It's been twelve years since." Sarada muttered her thoughts, knowing that her former teammate and assistant was near.

"Thinking about Boruto again?" Mitsuki asked her, but she remained silent.

"I can assure you, he's doing fine."

"How would you know that Mitsuki? Who knows where he could possibly be?"

Mitsuki put his hand on her shoulder and looked at her eyes. "He's one of the finest shinobi alive. He's not weak, I'm sure he'll survive out there."

Sarada looked away from Mitsuki and back to the stars. "...But what if he's not coming back?"

Mitsuki was getting annoyed but stayed calm. "If you really love him, why can't you trust him?" That question shocked Sarada for a second.

She was speechless. She didn't know what to say. She did trust Boruto but she still was worried about him.

"I..." Mitsuki sighed, resting his hand on the railing while looking at the moon.

"See? That's why you shouldn't worry. Anything can happen at anytime, maybe he'll come back tonight or maybe a couple more years. But you have to believe in him. You know Sarato's curious on who he is, and I understand him." Sarada stared at her friend who was adoring the moon with his bright, yellow eyes. Mitsuki turned his head towards her and flashed his signature smile.

"You should probably go home and see him, I'll stay here tonight." Sarada raised a brow at her former teammate.

"Isn't Sumire going to get mad?" Mitsuki chuckled upon Sarada mentioning his wife.

"She'll understand. After all, shes your best friend, isn't she?" Sarada pursed her lips into a smile.

"So, you wont mind if I do this?" She climbed the railing and was ready to jump from roof to roof. She heard Mitsuki sigh.

"Sometimes I really think you and Boruto act alike, that's why you were meant to be." Sarada chuckled, "Do what you want, Tenth."

The Hokage began jumping from roof to roof to see her son. Once she reached the Uzumaki-Uchiha house, she quietly went to her son's room. When she opened the door,  her son was in his balcony looking at the stars.

Sarato noticed his mother's presence and but ignored her. "Sarato, why are you still awake?"

"When will he be back?" Sarato asked his mother, still not looking at her. Sarada frowned, she understood how he was feeling and it really hut not knowing who your father is. She walked to him and hugged him.

"He'll be back soon, I know it."

(THREE DAYS LATER)

Sarada nodded at the paper of her son's team. "I see, well done. Your mission was successful. I'll be giving you a next mission soon--"

Before she can finish her sentence the door slammed open, revealing one of her subordinates out of breath.

"Lady Sarada! Your husband has returned!" Without hesitation, she stood up shocked. Mitsuki watched her actions then turned to Sarato and flashed a smile to him. The boy's eyes widened with excitement and nervousness, before following his mother out to the gates of Konoha.

Sarada ran out of her office, followed by Mitsuki, Sarato and his team. By the time they reached the gates, they saw a crowd of people surrounding the area.

"Look! It's Lady Hokage!" One whispered.

" I wonder what will happen, it's been so long since I've seen Boruto-sama." Another said.

"It's Konoha's power couple, reunited!" A teen girl screeched.

Sarada didn't care about what they said, she needed to see him. Tears fell down her cheeks as she ran. The villagers cleared the way so she can run faster to him. Once she reached the middle, Sarada stopped.

There he was, hugging his sister who has missed him as much as Sarada has. He was still as handsome as he was yesrs ago. Both the Uzumaki siblings soon noticed the female hokage who was frozen in place. Himawari detached herself from him for Sarada to hug but all she did was stand there, frozen in place.

Boruto walked to her and bowed, "Hello, Lady Hokage. I've returned." Sarada couldn't take it anymore.

She cried, running into his arms.

Boruto chuckled, rubbing the back of his wife, "I missed you so much, please tell me this isn't a dream."

The crowd cheered, celebrating the return of Konoha's strongest warrior.

He flashed a small smile. "It isn't, I'm home."
