Winter is just around the corner, peaking by the window. Waiting for fall to end. In my perspective, almost everyone here, and by almost, i mean literally everyone is hasty whenever it's winter. You asked why? I'm not sure how to answer that. Some would get married and be divorced by Spring, some would buy a house and get bankrupt, Some would travel across the country and either get back with lots of story to tell or be unable to come back home, Some threw all their expenses to buy a boat that they would never have used, Some would even drop out of school, Some tried rollerskating with only in their underwear, trying to pie the police. I think this has been a some what tradition in this town. I'm not saying we're cursed or anything, It just feels like this became an annual thing?
Have I done any hasty acts like that? No. but i have been hasty alot of times, and it wasn't even winter when I did. It happened during Summer.
"Dean, Dean!"someone was calling me, with a familiar voice. I look by my left shoulder, and see Tessa running with a bunch of textbooks on hand, with her black leathered backpack bouncing as she was running towards me. She didn't think this through. She was running full speed, which made the two of us fall onto the ground, and buried by ridiculously thick textbooks.
I stood up and helped her get up. "What is all this?" I curiously asked as I picked up one of the books. "Im studying, duh."She picked the books and grabbed my hand to stand up.
"And what made the Tessa Simons the Great study for?"I pinched both of her cheeks which made her ow. Her cheeks got red after i released it. She pouted and lightly punched me by my arm. "For you must know, Miss Diana Leigh. There are these things called college. it may help your future"She said with an eyeroll.
"hm, which college are you planning on going?"
"Redhunds university" We went in a convenience store after answering my question.
Redhunds..? that's like a 5 hour drive away from here. Cool, she'll be seeing much of my mum.
"I know what you're thinking. Its an hour drive away blabla"
"5, actually"I corrected.
''that's not the point here! Redhunds has been my dream since I started highschool"She said with sparkles on her eyes. Weird? yes, but i really did somehow see it
Redhunds is not the best. Well, for me it isn't. I've been there once, all I got was a disdainful glare from people who went there. As if I was a dishonorable ratchet who slept with the school jocks. Psh. They may look fancy but they're the least people I want to be around withm
"Chocolate?"She offered while shoving the chocolate bar into my face. "Diabetes, no thanks"I uttered with disgust.
We went to the river before going straight to her house. What an amazing place. its not the most appealing thing to see but, this is kind of special to us.
"Hmm, just think.. by the end of summer, i might not be able to see this for quite a long time"she let out a heavy sigh.
That hit me. that made me sad. i punched her by the arm. not as lightly as she did to me earlier.
a tear fell from my cheek, followed by another, another, and another. i held my knees and hugged myself by the legs with complete anguish.
I hear her sobbing and felt her soft hands held both of my arms for comfort, in which formed a hug.
"aren't we looking like a load of bullocks?"I giggled, and so did she.
She rest her head on top of my right shoulder while both of us wept solely for her departure. i can feel her breathing by my shoulder, and how she swallowed in lack of oxygen.
"It's not official, yet. okay?" she lift her head to look at me and cheekily smiled with a stream of tears running down her cheeks.
"god, i hate you"I muttered, followed by a smile.
She has doubt about passing Redhunds. I dont want her to leave me, but I also dont want her to stay and give up on her career. She's not the brightest person in the room, but she can be very persistent in achieving her goal. Fortunately, she passed. I was almost choked by her when she received the letter of acceptance and crap.
By the looks of her face, she can't help but beam with victory. While I on the other hand was still trying to comprehend the situation. I didn't know what to do but to sit silently as she unravel the letter. I can see her trembling with excitement. I, too, was trembling.
She's leaving. She'll be leaving by the end of the month.
