Headcanon #49:
One of the only things James, Roxanne, Lily, Hugo and Scorpius Malfoy all had in common was that they liked Country music. Of course, James and Roxanne liked the music style more than Lily, Hugo and Scorpius did, but they didn't dislike it at all; the trio knew a few songs and really liked the ones they did. Whenever James and Roxanne would spend some time in the muggle world, they'd put a song in the radio and just sing along, with Fred staring at them weirdly.
James' favorite Country singer was Blake Shelton. He personally liked him a lot because of his voice and the way he sang. Roxanne had something with Taylor Swift's old songs, her album "Red" made her smile whenever she heard a song from it. She was kind of furious when Taylor Swift started to became a little too pop-ish, and guess what? Her "transition" albums were Red and 1989. But yes, she enjoyed her old songs quite a lot.
They weren't that obsessed, though; of course they liked other types of music too. But Country music? Essential in Roxanne's and James' life. He was the one who introduced it to Lily, while Roxanne introduced the genre to Hugo and both introduced it to Scorpius. They formed a peculiar bond because of music. Because of a different musical genre. Why? It wasn't just music... it was a way of living.
Also, James thought there was something funny in many Country songs; they talked about dogs. Or at least mentioned them. Blake once recorded a song called "I'll Name the Dogs". Weird... no wonder why a grin would always appear on James' face when he heard it.
This song really exists, just google it😂 was listening to it yesterday. And yes! I love Country Music. Random fact and headcanon, but I had this idea today and thought it would be cool if I made a headcanon about it!
